Today we’d like to introduce you to Roxanne Horta.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been a licensed therapist for over 10 years, and I’ve always had a passion for helping others, especially when it comes to the connection between our mental health and our physical well-being. Movement, taking care of your body, and understanding your mind have always been a big part of my life, both personally and professionally.
Recently, I launched my coaching program, The Roxy Reset, where I focus on supporting Latinas and women of color who are navigating major life transitions, especially motherhood, postpartum, and stepping into midlife. A lot of the women I work with are in that space of feeling like they’ve lost themselves a bit, and they’re trying to find their way back.
My work is really about helping women reconnect with themselves, learning how to prioritize their needs without guilt and even reframing the idea of being “selfish” into something positive and necessary. We focus on overall wellness – things like nervous system regulation, building routines that actually fit their lifestyle, reconnecting with their bodies, and creating sustainable habits around movement, nutrition, and self-care.
Becoming a mom myself, especially later in my 30s, was one of the biggest shifts in my life. It completely changed how I show up and the way I want to support women. I experienced firsthand how easy it is to lose yourself in motherhood; how beautiful it is, but also how disorienting it can feel stepping into a new identity.
That experience really deepened my work. Now, I feel even more called to support women through these transitions, using both my professional background and my personal journey to help them feel more grounded, supported, and connected to themselves.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, especially when it came to stepping into coaching.
One of the biggest challenges for me was honestly getting out of my own way. Starting a business and putting yourself out there requires a lot of inner work. It brings up self-doubt, fear, and all the things you thought you had already worked through.
Pregnancy and postpartum added another layer to that. I wasn’t struggling in the sense of not accepting motherhood. I was more in this space of “Who am I becoming now?” I was getting to know a completely new version of myself, and at the same time questioning how I could show up and support others while I was still figuring things out.
On top of that, there were the very real challenges: brain fog, hormonal shifts, emotional ups and downs, which made it hard to think clearly, create, and launch my coaching program the way I wanted to.
At some point, I had to surrender to the process. I allowed myself to take a step back, to be in that season fully, and to trust that I would come back to my work when I was ready.
And I did.
Coming back felt different. I felt more grounded, more aligned, and more ready to truly be seen. The biggest challenge was navigating self-doubt while stepping into a new identity, but it’s also been one of the most empowering experiences. Now, I feel more connected to my purpose than ever, and I’m excited to continue supporting women through similar journeys.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The Roxy Reset was created as a space for women to feel seen, understood, and supported, not just mentally, but as a whole person.
I offer both therapy (for clients in California) and coaching. In my therapy work, I specialize in perinatal mental health and use somatic approaches to help clients reconnect with their bodies and regulate their nervous system. One of the biggest things I focus on both in therapy and coaching, is self-compassion. It sounds simple, but it’s something almost every woman I work with struggles with, and it’s often the foundation for real, lasting change.
Through coaching, I work primarily with Latinas and women of color, helping them navigate life transitions while also unpacking the cultural and generational patterns that have shaped us. I’m passionate about helping women honor their culture and their roots, while also giving themselves permission to release the parts that no longer serve them.
A big part of my work is preparing and supporting women through transitions like postpartum and perimenopause; stages that every woman will experience, yet are still so misunderstood and under-discussed.
In my coaching program, I support women in understanding what’s happening in their bodies and give them tools to support themselves through it—through movement, nutrition, nervous system regulation, and creating routines that actually work for their real life.
My goal is to help women feel confident in their bodies, feel good in their skin, and create a life that feels more balanced, regulated, and aligned, without feeling like they have to do it all.
I help women who feel like they’ve lost themselves reconnect with their body, rebuild trust with themselves, and create a lifestyle that actually supports them.
Currently, I offer virtual 1:1 coaching in a 3- month container, as well as individual therapy for clients in California.
