Hidden Gems: Meet Meaghan Kessman of Meaghan Kessman Home Organization

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meaghan Kessman

Hi Meaghan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Newport Beach before heading to UC Santa Barbara, where my lifelong love for organization continued to take shape. After college, I spent over 20 years in digital media, working with amazing companies like Pandora and People Magazine.

A three-year adventure living in London with my family gave me a fresh perspective and a deeper appreciation for the way design and functionality come together to create meaningful spaces.

Today, I’m living my dream of helping people bring order and beauty into their homes. Whether it’s transforming a single closet or reimagining an entire room, I love empowering my clients to create spaces that feel peaceful, functional, and uniquely theirs. And getting to do this work throughout Los Angeles and Newport Beach, two cities I’ve always loved, makes it even more special.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any journey, mine hasn’t been without its challenges. After spending over 20 years in digital media, I took a leap by pausing my career to live abroad in London with my family for three years. That experience was both rewarding and transformative, but returning to the U.S. and starting my own business presented its own set of hurdles. Shifting from the corporate world to building something from the ground up required me to embrace uncertainty, learn new skills, and trust my instincts in entirely new ways.

One of the most significant challenges I’m facing right now is losing my home in the Pacific Palisades fire just days ago. It’s been an incredibly difficult and emotional experience, but it’s also given me a new perspective and even deeper empathy for clients navigating life’s unexpected transitions. This loss has underscored for me how important it is to create spaces that feel like a sanctuary – places of comfort, stability, and peace, especially during challenging times.

These challenges have shaped my approach, teaching me resilience, adaptability, and the value of staying grounded in my purpose. They’ve reinforced my belief that organization is more than just tidying up – it’s about creating a sense of calm and control, even in the midst of life’s uncertainties.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Meaghan Kessman Home Organization?
My business is deeply personal to me because it’s just me – working one-on-one with my clients to create spaces that truly transform how they live. This personal approach allows me to dive deep into understanding their unique needs, habits, and goals, so I can design the most tailored and effective solutions for their lives. I believe organization is about more than just tidying up; it’s about creating peace of mind, functionality, and beauty in everyday life.

When I work with clients, I take the time to understand their unique needs and priorities, designing systems that fit seamlessly into their lives. Whether it’s a closet, a kitchen, or an entire home, I focus on simplifying the chaos and bringing a sense of calm and order.

Based between Los Angeles and Newport Beach, I feel so fortunate to do this work in two cities I love, helping people create homes that feel inspiring and serene. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that the spaces I help organize bring joy, ease, and harmony into my clients’ lives.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Happiness for me comes from spending time with the people (and pets!) I love most. My husband, Grant, our two kids, Carter and Caroline, and our dogs, Anthony and Jackie, bring so much joy and laughter to my life. I also cherish time with the rest of my immediate family and close friends. They’re such an important part of my world and always remind me what’s truly meaningful.

Another source of fulfillment is my work with Defy Ventures, an organization that supports individuals impacted by incarceration. Through business coaching sessions in prison and helping people write resumes as they prepare to reenter society, I’ve seen firsthand the power of second chances. Witnessing the determination, creativity, and resilience of these individuals is incredibly inspiring, and being a small part of their journey is a privilege that brings me so much joy.
