Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathy Tsai.

Hi Kathy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always been passionate about creating a clean environment, recycling, and using non-toxic products because I believe that pollution and toxic materials cause cancer. I also LOVE animals because I felt as if I was deprived of having any pets in my “no pet, but fish” household haha 

Secretly getting a dog in college and learning how to take care of another living being helped me start Petique! A woman-owned company that develops non-toxic, travel-friendly, and sustainable pet products for dogs, cats, and small animals. 

Fast forward to today, our pet strollers and pet carriers have won awards, we have created sustainable and compostable pet bowls and toothbrushes, and we help thousands of pet owners travel with their pets! 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. It would have helped if I was taught how to run a company. There is so much you need to know! From a legal standpoint to having an organized system to being a great leader and knowing how to communicate.

Everything is a learning experience. You create your luck based on the vision you want in your team, your brand, and your products. A lot of the luck I create comes from the action and work I put into my life and my business. I LOVE how much I have grown in the last seven years. You really have to be adaptable because the world is constantly changing. My luck comes from staying positive and being a good human being.
