Hidden Gems: Meet Jesse Hale of Skyline Coffee Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse Hale.

Hi Jesse, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I first started working at a small grab-and-go coffee shop, and I quickly realized how much I loved making coffee and connecting with people. A little while later, my friends (Maddy and Kaylie), my boyfriend (Kaleb), and I bought a trailer. At first, it was just a fun project, but then I realized it could actually become a coffee trailer. From there, I started researching and making plans for how I could turn this idea into a business.
My family really encouraged me to move forward, and they helped me with all the small details I hadn’t thought of. That support gave me the confidence to start doing pop-ups around my town to raise money for the trailer. My first pop-up was at my dad’s business in Old Town Yucca Valley. Then I did one at a small local market, and now I’ve been doing events with the Animal Action League, where I donate part of my proceeds to their cause.
I’ve only been running my coffee pop-ups for a few months, but it’s been such a great learning experience. I’m really excited to keep growing, building connections in my community, and eventually turning this dream of a coffee trailer into a full business.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being 19 and not having a lot of money has definitely been one of the biggest challenges for me. Starting something new at this age hasn’t been the smoothest road, but I know that struggles are part of the process. I haven’t faced any major setbacks yet, but I’m realistic and humble enough to know they’ll come as I grow. Right now, the biggest challenge has been not having my coffee trailer fully up and running yet, but I’m working hard toward making that happen.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business, Skyline Coffee Company, is a new and upcoming spot in the Morongo Basin. I serve a variety of drinks including coffee, Red Bull refreshers, matcha, chai, and lemonades. Every month, I create new specialty drinks that match the vibe of the season, which keeps things fun and exciting for my customers.
Right now, I’m especially proud of the Skyline Coffee shirts I just released. They turned out amazing and it feels good to see people wearing them. Skyline Coffee Company is built to cater to all kinds of drink needs, but at its core, it’s built on the goals and ambition of a young woman who is determined to grow her dream into something real.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love so many things about the small town I grew up in. One of my favorite parts is the tight-knit community and how everyone comes together during times of need. I also love that no matter where you go, you almost always run into someone you know and get the chance to catch up—it makes the town feel really connected.
Over time, as our town has become more touristy, we’ve lost a little bit of that small-town charm. While I enjoy meeting new people and welcoming visitors, it has changed the vibe a bit and taken away some of that close, cozy feeling I grew up with.
