Hidden Gems: Meet Jenai Solano of Bright Path Tutoring LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenai Solano.

Hi Jenai, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I entered education in 2006 as a Resource Specialist Tutor at Pacific High School in San Bernardino, going home each day asking, “How can I help each student more?” That question has guided me ever since. I earned my teaching credential and taught in the San Bernardino City Unified School District from 2007 to 2009. After welcoming my first child, I spent eight years at home, rearing and homeschooling—an experience that sharpened my patience, creativity, and commitment to individualized learning.

In 2018, I returned to the classroom at the Academy for Academic Excellence as a fourth-grade teacher. It was a formative year—an opportunity to blend everything I’d learned as an early-career teacher with the insight I’d gained while homeschooling. During professional trainings, I became especially drawn to serving students with special needs. I pursued a Special Education teaching credential and dove into Behavior Analysis, completing my coursework through George Mason University in Virginia. I still remember telling my supervisor at the start of the 2019 school year that all students can make progress. He told me to hold onto that conviction—and I have.

Like many educators, I navigated the upheaval of COVID-19 in 2020 and transitioned to online instruction. From 2021 to 2023, I served students in Orange County through online charter schools. Yet my desire to work in person with children with special needs kept growing. In 2023, I became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and stepped away from the school system to serve families in my local community. That same year I founded Bright Path Tutoring LLC, initially supporting elementary students and teens—both with and without special needs—in math, reading, and social skills online. As referrals grew, I expanded to in-home behavior analysis services.

On September 29, 2025, I opened my first clinical location for Applied Behavior Analysis and Tutoring in Apple Valley, California. Today, Bright Path provides math and reading support, ABA services, and parent training with a simple commitment: steady, measurable progress. We help children move forward—and we help families become more functional.
Since 2021, I’ve continued to homeschool my three high-schoolers. None of this would be possible without the love and support of my husband, Alex, our children, and our church community. New vistas are ahead, and I’m grateful to keep serving the High Desert with evidence-based, heart-filled care.

BIO
Jenai Solano, M.A., BCBA, is the founder of Bright Path Tutoring LLC in Apple Valley, providing ABA services, parent training, and academic support in math and reading. A former public-school teacher and homeschooling parent, she is dedicated to helping children make consistent, measurable progress and helping families thrive.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Juggling work, homeschooling, and being a mother and wife is certainly a challenge. This is why my church community is important. They have kept me balanced and helped me to continue to see that building my marriage and family is the most important thing. Additional challenges would be shifting from the world of education to behavior analysis. I would say I have learned how to incorporate them both in a balanced way, but I have found that educational philosophies can be warm and loving, while behavior analysis philosophies can appear cold and clinical. It is important to be balanced and find a way to bring love into any environment so children and families can thrive. Another challenge has been the learning curve of being a first-time business owner and learning so much so quickly. I’ve definitely made mistakes, but I have learned from them and become better as a result. Having started out with just myself as the only employee, has been difficult to do all tasks (secretary, RBT, BCBA, janitor…), but the biggest benefit from this is the compassion that develops for those who will fill these roles later. My mind is always thinking, “What will this job role need later on so that they can thrive?” I want my future employees to feel loved, cared for, and supported as I did throughout my career.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Bright Path Tutoring LLC?
Bright Path Tutoring

Please tell us more about your business or organization. What should we know?
Founded in 2023 and newly expanded to a clinical location in Apple Valley (opened September 29, 2025), Bright Path serves students with and without special needs. Our approach is simple: personalized plans, clear goals, and data-driven instruction—so families can see real progress, not just promises.

What do you do—what do you specialize in / what are you known for?
We specialize in:
• ABA therapy led by a BCBA (skill building, behavior reduction, and caregiver coaching)
• Targeted tutoring in math and reading using proven, structured methods
• Parent training that turns strategies into everyday routines
We’re known for turning overwhelm into a step-by-step plan families can follow—and for celebrating small wins that add up to big change.

What sets you apart from others?
• BCBA-led and school-savvy: We bridge home, clinic, and school goals and can align with IEPs.
• Measurable results: Every plan has clear targets, data collection, and regular progress reviews.
• Whole-family focus: We train caregivers so progress continues between sessions.
• Flexible delivery: Clinic-based services with options for in-home and community settings when appropriate.

What are you most proud of, brand-wise?
That “forward progress” isn’t just a tagline—it’s our culture. Families tell us they feel seen, supported, and equipped. We’re proud that our brand stands for compassion, evidence-based practice, and practical tools that make daily life easier.

What do you want our readers to know about your brand, offerings, services, etc.?
If your child struggles with learning or behavior—or you simply want a clearer plan—Bright Path is here to guide the next steps. Services include ABA therapy, behavior reduction and social skills programs, parent training, school readiness, and tutoring in math and reading. We start with a conversation, set goals together, and track progress you can actually see. We serve Apple Valley and the wider High Desert community.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters the most is that students and families come away feeling loved and cared for as they meet their goals and make progress. Many students have hurdles with learning, fitting in (identity), and making friends. At home, their lives may be dysfunctional and lack warmth and love. Meeting their goals with someone who believes they can and someone who gives them the confidence to do so is important.

I was a late reader and had my own share of hurdles with education. What made the difference for me was the teachers, supervisors, friends, and family who showed support in a way that expressed true love and care for my success.
