Hidden Gems: Meet Daleet Spector of Daleet Spector Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daleet Spector

Hi Daleet, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As an interior designer of almost 20 years I’m passionate about transforming my client’s spaces to bring more function and beauty to their lives. The job does come with it’s share of challenges and yoga always provided a great release, both mentally and physically.

When I turned 50, I followed my passion for yoga into teacher training – thinking I would just be learning more about yoga and deepening my practice. Through the process I realized how much I love to teach and that it allows me to give others something that has given so much to me. Although I was worried 50 was too old, I overcame this insecurity and began teaching yoga classes at Hot 8 Yoga in Santa Monica and Brentwood.

Currently, I’m working with clients as an interior designer, teaching group yoga classes and teaching privates as well.

I’ve come to realize there’s a connection between yoga and interior design – I can use my experience in both areas to create beauty in the lives of my clients, both inside and out! Through my instagram channel I love to share insights on everything from parenting and creating stunning flower arrangements to deeper dives into the benefits of yoga.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road for me, at times my path was unclear and I’ve encountered my share of obstacles. When I decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture I was simultaneously working and starting a family. I took classes at night and the Master’s degree took me eight years to achieve! Needless to say this process was a huge challenge and graduation day was one of my proudest moments.

All of my experiences have led me to where I am now – my goal is to share wisdom on nurturing both our inner and outer worlds. Drawing from my experiences as an interior designer of twenty years and a yoga instructor, I offers insights that are accessible to everyone.

We’ve been impressed with Daleet Spector Design, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m currently working with clients as an interior designer, teaching yoga classes at Hot 8 Yoga in Los Angeles and teaching private yoga classes as well. I am also developing private workshops where I combine my passion for yoga and my love of entertaining. Students will experience both yoga and a beautiful meal in my garden. I’m excited to share more about this as it develops.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I feel that being elevated yet accessible is most important to my success. Instagram, in particular, has often been a platform where life appears overly perfect, making it feel unwelcoming to many people. I hope to offer a refreshing perspective on living a beautiful life, inside and out, regardless of age.
