Today we’d like to introduce you to Chanchal Garg.
Hi Chanchal, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was raised as a dutiful South Asian Indian daughter. I honored my culture, my religion and my elders and didn’t question my place when I was told that I always belonged to a man- my father as a child, my husband when I got married and then in old age, to my son. Though I was raised in the US, straddling two cultures made it challenging for me to ever be myself. I always longed to feel divinity and in this pursuit followed a ‘spiritual teacher’ or ‘guru’ who used his power to spiritually and sexually abuse me for over ten years. I finally faced what was happening as I taught a yoga class while pregnant with my daughter. My inner voice became too loud to ignore. I’ve spent the last 13 years healing from this. During this time, I changed the tattoos he wrote on my body, I changed the name he gave me and I’ve gone from being estranged from my culture and heritage to reclaiming it on my own terms. I continue to heal as I build my relationship with my husband and we raise our two children to be independent thinkers who trust their inner knowing as their guide.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. When I faced the abuse and told the people in my life who I was hoping would support me, they didn’t understand and some even blamed me for the abuse I endured. I’ve had to walk this path alone in many ways. I also think it is this solo traveling that has shaped me into who I am today.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve created the Unearthed Power Matrix as a leadership path for women who refuse to lead halfway. The Unearthed Way is for women who are done shrinking, code-switching, or walking the tightrope of conflicting expectations. It’s for leaders who want to lead with clarity and power—without hardening, without apology, and without losing themselves.
What sets this work apart is how it integrates deep self-awareness, relational intelligence, and embodied leadership. This isn’t about tips and tricks. It’s about rewiring how you show up—rooted, clear, and fully yourself in the spaces that need you most.
Through immersive experiences, cohort-based learning, and personalized coaching, The Unearthed Way offers multiple pathways for growth. Whether it’s through a 1:1 leadership reset, a 3-month cohort, or reflective practices from my book, Unearthed: The Lies We Carry and the Truths They Bury, the work meets you where you are, and honors where you come from.
Brand-wise, I’m proud to offer a space where truth, tenderness, and power can coexist. I’m also a long-time facilitator of Stanford Graduate School of Business’s flagship course on interpersonal dynamics, where I help future leaders deepen their emotional and relational capacity.
