Today we’d like to introduce you to Alima Sanni.
Hi Alima, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My business is called Music Love Harmony. It’s a music marketing and artist development platform for emerging music artists. It started as a music blog and it still is to this day.
I started the blog 11 years ago to interview and feature emerging music artists. Over the years, the brand has evolved. I wanted the brand to be a valuable resource for artists, so I used my background in artist development to create a program for artists to build solid music marketing strategies and become the CEO of their career without a record label.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. Some of the struggles were doing everything by myself and experiencing a program launch that failed. I see failure as feedback. It shows me what I can do better. I’m grateful for that experience because it gave me direction on what to create and what to improve.
I’m also grateful to have a community of music artists that finds the content valuable.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m an artist development coach for emerging music artists. I specialize in music marketing. I recently launched a 6-week program for artists to get crystal clear on their branding, develop a marketing strategy, and step into their role as the CEO of their career without a record label.
I also launched an ebook titled “Indie Amplified.” It’s an ebook for artists filled with tips and strategies on creating a sustainable music career independently.
Music Love Harmony is also a music blog, so expect new artist features and interviews in the near future!
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is the importance of having the right mindset. In business mindset is everything. I like to maintain a positive mental attitude backed by belief in what I’m offering.
Things won’t always be perfect and there will be some setbacks, but I’m grateful that I understand the importance of working on my mindset just as much as I work on my business.
