Today we’d like to introduce you to Adel Ganiev.
Hi Adel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Originally I’m from Russia. I came to California in December 2019 with the goal of becoming the best coach in the world, raising champions and performing with them in the biggest arenas of the world, at the biggest competitions. I moved to West LA in early 2020. Striving for my dream but not having the conditions for this, I began to train people in the parks, on the street, where I had to, imagining in my head how I would train people in my big GYM. I understood that there was a lot of work to be done, but I was not afraid of this, because I have a dream, every day I woke up at 4-5am, trained, did things that are inherent in every emigrant, went to bed at 10pm, the next day everything repeated. It was not easy, but I was driven and driven by dream. After a couple of years of hard work, I met certain people from the world of boxing, people who inspired me and motivated me, since US gives me the opportunity to meet such people. I thought about opening my own GYM. A year has passed since the beginning of the search for premisses for the space, until its opening in January 2023.
This year we have come a long way. There were many questions and tasks that needed to be solved, but we successfully coped with all this, thanks to the people who helped me and worked with me, thanks to hard and faith in the American dream and its fulfillment. On January 29, 2023 at 12821 Washington Blvd., unit 104, Los Angeles, CA 90066, I opened the Gonza Boxing Union gym. The opening of the gym was attended by current world boxing champions, former world boxing champions, Olympic Games medalists, such as the current bantamweight WBA, IBF champion of the world Murodjon “MJ” Akhmadaliev, former WBA welterweight champion of the world Radzab “No mercy” Butaev and many other. The opening was also attended by famous people from the boxing world, such as Vadim Kornilov (manager of many world champions, including Dmitry Bivol), Tom Loeffler (sports manager of Gennady Golovkin, the Klitchko brothers and many others). Thus, part of my American dream came true, but there is even more work ahead.
Next, I want to raise kids in our GYM that their parents, the American Society, will be proud of. Not all of them will become champions, but by boxing they can clearly become better for themselves and for society. In the future, I want to make kid’s groups free so that training is available to everyone. Also, our GYM does not forget everyone else, we will be glad if as many people as possible will be involved in sports, in a healthy lifestyle. Boxing is not only physical health but also mental. It will be better if people leave all their negative in the GYM in the boxing ring, working on the themselves, and only positive will rush into society. In conclusion, I want to say that I am not ready to stop there, my regimen has not changed since my arrival in America, I also get up at 4 am, go to bed at 10 pm, because our GYM is open to everyone from 6am to 9 pm on weekdays, and on weekends until noon. Thank you.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, is wasn’t easy. But I can’t speak of any particular difficulties, everything went in parallel. Search for space, financing, selection of equipment suppliers, and so on all these are certain difficulties. On the way to my dream, I faced many difficulties, ranging from the opinions of others to financial difficulties, but me faith in my work did not let me doubt the ultimate success. If you do something, love it and sincerely believe, believe in the success of your business, nothing can’t stop you on this path, all difficulties become only obstacles that you need to overcome. It many difficult to do, it will take some at that time, it may not be worth first time, but you still need to try based on previous experience, because you know why you are doing it. You will not care what others say, what is happening around, all you need is goal and a clear plan to achieve your goal. It is also very important to choose a team that helps you achieve your goals. During this time I meet Manu people, most of them helped me a lot, the rest I am grateful for the experience gained in working with them.
We’ve been impressed with Gonza Boxing Union, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was born on the outskirts of the city of Kazan, Russia, in a family of simple workers. We did not live richly, but we did not go hungry either, because my parents always worked. I also have an older brother, so in childhood we were bored together. At school, I studied normally, I did not have any special achievements in my studies. One day my friend suggested going to boxing training. We all went to boxing, only I remained in boxing from the whole company, moreover, that same friend is no longer alive. After joining the gym, my childhood was divided into before and after, I began to train five times a week, during the holidays, I trained 2 times a day, in the morning and the evening, I like it, as I like it now. Therefore, all my memories are connected with training, competitions and sports camps. My friends in the gym became like brothers to me, and the coach became the second father who made a huge contribution to my upbringing. I still communicate very close with them. Of course, there are also memories of how we went to the village to see my grandma as a child, there too. It was fun.
