Exploring Life & Business with Tallie Nourollah of Tallie Wigs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tallie Nourollah.

Hi Tallie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Every wig I make is held to one rule: nobody should ever be able to tell.

I learned that rule making sheitels, the human hair wigs Orthodox Jewish women wear every day. When you wear a wig from morning to night, in front of the people who know you best, it has to look and feel like your own hair. That community is still the heart of Tallie Wigs and our biggest client base.

Then a different client started finding us. Women losing their hair to alopecia, chemotherapy and other medical conditions were searching for the same thing my sheitel clients had always demanded: a wig no one would notice. Luxury clients followed, women who simply want the best hair in the room. Today they sit in the same chair for the same reason.

What began as TNT by Tallie is now Tallie Wigs, a custom human hair wig shop at 8362 W 3rd St in Los Angeles, right next door to Joan’s on Third. We recently moved one door over into a space twice the size, and I’m growing my team of wig makers to keep up.

I’m also a mom of seven. I just welcomed my seventh, a baby girl, and the business keeps growing right alongside the family.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all, and the hardest parts are the ones clients never see.

Insurance is the biggest. Many health plans technically cover a medical wig, which insurers call a cranial prosthesis, but small specialty wig makers like us have not been able to get in network, even after trying for a long time. So a woman going through chemo or alopecia hair loss pays upfront and chases reimbursement on her own. We can’t fix that system, but we give every medical client a superbill, walk her through the process, and published a full cranial prosthesis insurance guide on our blog so no one has to figure it out alone.

Talent is the second, and it comes from a good problem: our appointment book stays full. Ventilating, hand-tying human hair into a lace cap a few strands at a time, is a rare skill. Finding wig makers with real luxury human hair experience takes patience, and I won’t compromise on it.

Even our name had to be rebuilt. Changing from TNT by Tallie to Tallie Wigs meant re-earning recognition everywhere clients search for us.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Tallie Wigs?
Tallie Wigs makes undetectable custom human hair wigs in Los Angeles, and clients often call us the Rolls-Royce of wigs. We are on West 3rd Street, minutes from Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, and every wig is glueless, 100% human hair, and cut, colored and fit to one woman’s head right here.

What sets us apart is the standard we come from. A sheitel has to pass the closest inspection there is: family, friends and community, every single day. We bring that standard to every client, whether she needs a medical wig for alopecia or chemotherapy, wants a topper for thinning hair, or simply wants the most natural hair of her life.

What we offer:
– Custom human hair wigs, from virgin hair to colored and multi-tone pieces
– Human hair toppers for thinning hair
– Medical and alopecia wigs, with a superbill for cranial prosthesis insurance reimbursement
– Glueless wigs made for all-day comfort
– Private in-person wig consultations and fittings
– In-house finishing, color, styling and repairs for Tallie Wigs pieces

What I’m most proud of is the moment a client looks in the mirror and sees herself again. Our work has been featured many times, and clients love to share their wigs. Some of the people who sit in my chair would surprise you. Celebrities really do knock on our door, and I can’t tell anyone who wears our wigs. That is part of the fun. I love keeping those secrets.

If you have never worn a wig, come in and try one on. Most women are amazed at how comfortable and natural a properly fit human hair wig feels. Book a consultation at https://www.sheitels.com or call (323) 496-3229.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
My day starts at 4:30am. Before I fit a single wig, I’m in a class at The Yard in West Hollywood, which recently featured me in its People of TYG series. With seven kids and a growing business, that early hour is mine.

The other surprise is the wigs themselves. Most people picture something hot, itchy and glued down. Ours are glueless, and some of the most natural looking hair in Los Angeles traces back to a tradition where women have worn wigs every day for generations. Chances are you’ve passed one of our clients on the street and never knew.
