Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophia Collier.
Hi Sophia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Orange County, California, as an only child in a multicultural household—my mom is Hispanic and European, and my dad is Black and Asian. From a young age—truly before I was even a teenager—I’ve always had a strong drive to lead, create, and give back. Whether it was through organizing school activities, joining choir, or volunteering in my local community, I naturally gravitated toward initiatives that brought people together and made a positive impact.
Volunteering has always been a big part of who I am. I’ve led group efforts, planned events, and consistently taken the initiative to support causes I care about. To this day, I stay involved in local outreach and service, and giving back remains one of my top priorities. As I grow my clothing brand, The Care Club, my long-term goal is to use it as a platform to host community-centered events that combine fashion, wellness, and charity. I want to collaborate with brands and nonprofits to create meaningful experiences—pop-ups, donation drives, healing events—that make a real impact in people’s lives.
My content creation journey started early too. When I was 17—long before it became the industry it is today—I asked my dad to take me to get a ring light. He believed in me, and I began filming beauty and lifestyle videos in my room. Before that, I even wanted to go to med school because I loved the idea of helping people. While I later realized science wasn’t my path, I never let go of that desire to uplift others—I just found a new way to do it through storytelling and creative expression.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Building a personal brand while going through one of the hardest experiences of my life—physically, mentally, and emotionally—was a challenge that tested me in ways I never expected. When I broke my ankle, I couldn’t walk for months. I was in pain, I lost a lot of independence, and it completely shifted the pace of my life. On top of that, sharing such a vulnerable chapter online came with a rollercoaster of emotions.
Some people were incredibly supportive, but others made fun of my injury or dismissed what I was going through. That kind of backlash was painful. It made me realize how little people understand the importance of recovery—not just physically, but mentally. People often expect you to bounce back instantly, but healing is not linear. It takes patience, grace, and self-compassion.
Even so, I chose to keep sharing. And I’m so glad I did. From that one viral video documenting my recovery, I gained over 100,000 followers across all platforms—and now have a community of over 660,000 people. What means the most to me is the messages I receive every day from people going through similar recoveries. They tell me I’ve helped them know what to expect, or that I’ve given them hope they’ll get through it too. That warms my heart more than anything.
I still make time to answer DMs, especially from people who are healing—because I know what it feels like to need reassurance that you’ll be okay. Helping others feel less alone during tough times is one of the most fulfilling parts of what I do.
That experience led me to create The Care Club—a brand rooted in healing, mental wellness, and self-love. Every design reflects the journey of recovery and growth. Since then, I’ve collaborated with brands that align with my mission and launched a marketing agency to help other creators and businesses share their stories with intention.
Through it all, my mission has stayed the same: to help people feel seen, supported, and empowered. Whether it’s through content, clothing, or community events—I want everything I do to leave people feeling a little more loved and a little less alone.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
First and foremost, I’m a content creator. That’s where everything began, and it’s still the core of what I do. Through every video, photo, or caption I share, my intention is always to make people feel something—whether it’s comfort, confidence, motivation, or simply less alone in what they’re going through. I want my content to be a safe space: a blend of beauty, vulnerability, growth, and realness.
From recovery updates to wellness routines, fashion moments to life reflections, I try to bring people along for the journey in a way that’s honest and relatable. My goal is to remind others that healing doesn’t have to be hidden, that your story matters, and that softness and strength can exist at the same time.
That message carried over into my business—The Care Club, a wellness-centered clothing brand rooted in healing, self-love, and mental health awareness. The brand was inspired by my own journey recovering from a traumatic ankle injury and everything I’ve learned about grace, growth, and taking care of yourself.
The Care Club is more than just clothing. It’s a movement and a community. Every piece is made to feel like wearable comfort—uplifting, cozy, and designed to support people through all seasons of life. Whether someone’s healing from surgery, navigating anxiety, or simply needing a soft reminder that they’re doing okay, I want our pieces to meet them where they are. That’s what I’m most proud of: the emotional connection people have with the brand. It means the world when someone messages me to say a hoodie or quote helped them through a tough time.
What sets The Care Club apart is our heart. We’re not chasing trends—we’re creating pieces with intention. The brand is expanding into community wellness events, collaborations with charities, and initiatives that give back in meaningful ways. I’ve been volunteering and leading community-based efforts since I was a kid, and my long-term vision is to grow The Care Club into a platform for change—blending fashion, purpose, and healing together.
On the business side, I also run a marketing agency where I help brands and creators build with depth and strategy. From content creation to social growth, I specialize in helping people turn ideas into impact—and tell their stories in ways that are beautiful, powerful, and real.
At the end of the day, whether it’s through a TikTok, a sweatshirt, or a campaign—I want people to walk away from my work feeling better than they did before. Seen, inspired, and ready to keep going.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is going to get my first ring light with my dad. I was 17, and content creation wasn’t even a “thing” yet—but I just had this deep feeling that I wanted to create something meaningful. I didn’t fully know what I was doing, but my dad believed in me. He drove me to the store, helped me pick it out, and encouraged me to go for it.
That moment sticks with me because it was the beginning of everything. It wasn’t just about a ring light—it was about having someone believe in my dreams, even before I had the words to explain them. It reminds me how important support is, especially in the early stages of discovering who you are.
Looking back, that simple memory symbolizes the start of a much bigger journey—one filled with creativity, connection, and a passion for helping others feel seen.
