Parnia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I wasn’t set up for success. I built it.

At 12 years old, I immigrated to the U.S. English was my third language. I had to figure everything out from scratch—new culture, new challenges—but I didn’t let that stop me. I worked hard, pushed myself, and eventually earned my Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business.

I did what I thought I was supposed to do—got the degree, landed the corporate jobs, worked the 9-to-5 grind. And I hated it. Every second of it. I felt trapped, stuck in a cycle that drained me. So, I walked away.

I picked up serving, like I was back in university, working poolside in the summer heat just to pay my bills and survive. And then summer ended. My job was gone, and I was left with nothing but a choice—stay stuck or figure it out.

That’s when life threw me an opportunity. While getting my brows done, I was casually talking about my skills—how I had been growing social media pages, trying different online businesses, and just knew how digital marketing worked. I didn’t realize at the time, but everything I had done—dropshipping, launching my own jewelry brand, building brands from scratch—was real experience.

Later, that same person reached out to me. They were starting a business and asked if I could help. And that was it—the moment everything changed.

I taught myself social media marketing, branding, SEO, content strategy—everything. I built Shirzan Digital and Social Media Marketing from the ground up, helping businesses grow online. Shirzan means “lioness” in Farsi, and that name represents everything I stand for—resilience, power, and going after what’s yours.

Now, Shirzan isn’t just a business—it’s proof that you don’t need a perfect plan or the “right” background to build something real. I built my Instagram @parpariii by owning my story—raw, unfiltered, and unapologetically real. That’s how Your Persian Bestie turned vulnerability into power and created a movement. I show people that you don’t have to follow the script. You can bet on yourself. You can rewrite your life.

And this is just the beginning. I want to build something even bigger next, something that takes all of this to the next level. But no matter what I do, my message stays the same:

You don’t need permission. You just need to start.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth? Not even close.

Everything I’ve built, I built on my own—no roadmap, no connections, no shortcuts. Just grit, resilience, and a refusal to quit.

Being an immigrant at 12, learning English as my third language, and trying to navigate life in a whole new country? That wasn’t easy. I had to work twice as hard to catch up, to prove myself, to get ahead. But I did it. I put myself through school, earned my degree in Finance and International Business, and landed those so-called “dream” corporate jobs.

And yet, I was miserable.

I walked away from the “safe” path and started over—again. I picked up serving, just to survive, working poolside in the heat, feeling like I was back in university, except this time, I had no idea what came next. When summer ended, so did my job, and I found myself at rock bottom—no steady income, no clue what to do, just raw survival mode.

Then came Shirzan. Or rather, I created Shirzan. Out of nothing.

The struggles didn’t stop there. Teaching myself everything from scratch, from social media marketing to branding, to content creation, to sales—that was a fight. I had no mentors, no one guiding me. I had to figure it all out on my own, through trial, error, and pure determination.

Building Shirzan Digital while growing my personal brand @parpariii has been its own challenge. Imposter syndrome, financial struggles, the constant pressure to prove myself—it’s all been part of the journey. Some months, I was making money. Other months? Barely scraping by.

And then there’s the mental battle. When you work for yourself, there’s no safety net. No paycheck hitting your account every two weeks. You wake up every single day knowing that if you don’t show up, nothing happens.

But every struggle, every setback, made me tougher. It forced me to level up, to move differently, to bet on myself harder.

So, no. The road hasn’t been smooth. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Because every obstacle taught me one thing:

I can figure it out. I always do.
