Hi Pari, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Born to Iranian immigrants who sought refuge in the United States during the turbulent 1980s, I grew up navigating the crossroads of two cultures. My parents, fleeing the wars in Iran, instilled in me a resilience and adaptability that would become the cornerstone of my diverse career.

During my time at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), I explored various career paths, ultimately graduating with the intent to become a teacher. However, a deep-seated passion for storytelling led me to pivot towards writing.

In pursuit of this dream, I moved to New York City and enrolled in The New School for graduate studies. It was there that I discovered Muay Thai, a sport that captivated me and altered my course yet again. Immersing myself in the world of combat sports, I became a journalist and photographer, a rare woman in a field dominated by men. My work took me across the globe, representing both the US team and international federations, where I built a network of friendships and professional connections.

After more than half a decade of establishing my career in NYC, I relocated to Amsterdam at the start of 2021 to work with one of the world’s largest fight organizations. Yet, after 2.5 years, I felt the pull of a long-held dream—to live in Paris. Embracing the change, I moved to France and transitioned into a new phase of my career. Most recently, I was a photographer at the Olympics for the International Muaythai Federation and have worked prestigious events such as the World Games in Alabama, and the Muaythai World Championships.

Now, based in Paris with operations primarily in Los Angeles, I own and operate a business consultancy focused on media and workflow optimization. While Muaythai is my passion, I truly enjoy working small businesses, helping them refine their strategies and streamline their processes. Drawing from over a decade of experience across various industries and roles, I take great pride in using my knowledge to empower others, guiding them to find the best solutions for their unique challenges.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, this journey has been far from easy for me. Leaving my family behind in Riverside to venture into new places, often without fluency in the local language, was incredibly challenging. When I lived in New York City, I struggled just to afford food and rent, taking on multiple odd jobs just to pursue my passion. Overcoming anxiety and self-doubt, and sacrificing the security of a stable life, were constant battles. The most difficult moment came when my father passed away while I was in Amsterdam. Due to the lockdown, I couldn’t return home for his funeral and had to mourn alone, far from my family.

Despite these hardships, I’ve learned to remain positive and trust that everything will eventually come together. The difficulties I’ve faced have shaped me, teaching me resilience and perseverance, but it hasn’t been an easy road.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Some of my favorite childhood memories are of summer days spent in our backyard. I would spend hours playing and swimming in the pool while my mom baked cookies or brought out a picnic for us to enjoy. She also tended a beautiful garden, filled with vibrant flowers right outside my bedroom window. I loved gazing at those flowers, as they blossomed and bloomed over the warm days of summer.
