Today we’d like to introduce you to Nika Shneyder
Hi Nika, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Chill RV Rentals started with a different dream altogether. My dad and I initially wanted to dive into the Airbnb business and build our own little empire of vacation rentals. The problem? We didn’t own any real estate. As we explored ways to make it work, we hit roadblock after roadblock. But one thing stuck with us—we loved the idea of hosting guests and creating memorable experiences.
It wasn’t until my dad was invited on a camping trip in 2016 that everything clicked. One of the campers brought a motorhome, and my dad came home inspired. “Why not host guests in RVs?” he asked. It wasn’t the Airbnb model we’d imagined, but it opened up an entirely new way to pursue our vision.
That’s how Chill RV Rentals was born. My dad and I teamed up—he brought the business expertise and technical know-how, while I handled the creative side, from marketing to building relationships. We bought our first RV, listed it, and watched bookings roll in. Turns out, people love the idea of camping without sacrificing comfort.
In those early days, we did everything ourselves—deliveries, cleaning, even repairs. Every cent went back into growing our fleet. What set us apart was our commitment to exceptional service. We didn’t just rent RVs; we helped create experiences, and our clients noticed. Word-of-mouth spread quickly, and our business grew faster than we could have imagined.
Today, we’ve had the privilege of serving over 7,000 clients and creating countless rewarding experiences along the way. Of course, it hasn’t been without its challenges—navigating a competitive market has kept us on our toes—but we’ve stayed true to our mission: making outdoor exploration easy, comfortable, and unforgettable. What began as a dream of building an Airbnb empire evolved into something even more meaningful—a business that helps people reconnect with nature and embrace adventure in ways we never could have imagined.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth? Definitely not. Like any business, we’ve faced our fair share of challenges. One of the biggest has been dealing with RV breakdowns—which, as luck would have it, usually happen on a Friday night in the middle of nowhere. Figuring out how to get our clients back on the road quickly and with minimal interruption to their trip has been a real test of problem-solving and customer service.
Another challenge has been staying competitive. The RV rental market is no walk in the park, and we’ve worked hard to carve out a niche by specializing in hosting first-time RVers. Our goal is to make the experience as easy and stress-free as possible, and that focus has helped us stand out.
There’s also the tricky balance of fairness—being fair to our clients while also being fair to ourselves. Unfortunately, things sometimes get damaged in the RVs. When that happens, it’s crucial to assess whether the damage was due to negligence or something unavoidable. We’ve maintained an incredible online reputation—over 500 five-star reviews on Yelp and Google—because we often err on the side of fairness to our clients, even if it means taking a hit ourselves.
Of course, not every client makes that easy. I’ve learned that there are occasional “bad apples” who try to take advantage. As someone who’s very customer-satisfaction oriented, it was tough for me to accept that not everyone has good intentions. Over time, I’ve learned to stand up to those situations and not take them personally. It’s been a lesson in resilience and boundaries, and while the road hasn’t been smooth, the journey has been worth it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Chill RV Rentals?
At Chill RV Rentals, we’ve grown far beyond offering just short-term road trips and weekend getaways. While those remain a core part of what we do, we’ve expanded into unique services that cater to a variety of needs. For example, we now provide long-term RV rentals for clients who want to park an RV at their home—perfect for hosting visiting family or creating a temporary living space during renovations. We’ve also supported clients dealing with fire or water damage by offering a comfortable and convenient housing solution during challenging times.
One of our most exciting offerings is hosting guests for Burning Man—it’s truly the highlight of our year. Over time, we’ve developed a specialized Burning Man RV package tailored to meet every need for the event. From reflective window covers to keep the RV cool, to additional water supplies and 24/7 support, the package ensures guests have everything required for a seamless and unforgettable experience in the desert.
What truly sets us apart is our all-inclusive approach. When a guest rents an RV from us, they’re not just renting a vehicle—they’re getting a complete experience. With add-ons like bike rentals, BBQs, Starlink internet, outdoor games, and other camping essentials, we make sure our clients don’t have to spend time and energy sourcing additional gear. We even assist with trip planning, making the process as smooth as possible.
Another major advantage is our delivery service. We bring the RV directly to the renter’s location (within our delivery range), saving time and eliminating the hassle of pick-up. And for those traveling with pets, our RVs are pet-friendly, making them an excellent choice for families with furry companions.
What we’re most proud of is our commitment to exceptional customer service. Time and time again, we hear from clients who have rented from other companies that no one matches the level of care, attention, and ease of use we provide.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
What’s surprising to many people is that, even though we might look like a major brand from the outside, we’re actually a decently small, family-run business. We’re still very hands-on—whether it’s managing bookings, maintaining the RVs, or ensuring every guest has an exceptional experience. That personal touch is something we’re really proud of, and it’s a big part of what sets us apart.
