Exploring Life & Business with Kelly Morita of Radiant Reiki Healing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Morita.

Hi Kelly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey as a healer began following the unexpected loss of my brother in a car accident in 2013. I was living a very different life then -following an earlier calling to civil service, working for the federal government in New York City. My academic studies focused on political science and international relations. I was, in my own way, seeking to become a diplomat. A peacemaker in the world. My brother’s passing shifted those gears, although not entirely.

In deep grief, I made the decision to move back home to CA, where I was born and raised. My family needed me and we needed to heal together. We went to traditional grief share groups through our local church and to talk therapy to manage the heaviness. I felt such difficult emotions in those initial months following his passing that I sought other alternative means of healing.

This is when I came across reiki – a Japanese form of energy healing that felt spiritual and resonated with who I am. I was hooked on this method after taking the Level 1 class, which initiated me as a practitioner of this art. I took all the levels I could, as fast as I could. They were helping me tremendously, as well as giving me a gift to offer those closest to me in such pain.

Also in my research, I came across hypnotherapy as another healing tool. I had always been fascinated by human behavior and psychoanalysis. This took my knowledge of the workings of the mind and the subconscious levels to new heights. I began my own practice largely focusing on the hypnotherapy, while the reiki took a back seat. I was able to help many people shift from destructive habits and away from fears to live far more healthily.

And still, something was missing. After several years like this, I began to feel that there wasn’t enough heart energy in my practice and that something needed to shift. I sought counsel with my Reiki Master Teacher, who told me of higher reiki frequencies now available, that I could receive in a upgraded master class. I immediately jumped on that opportunity.

Since receiving the upgrades to new styles of reiki, namely Holy Fire, Karuna, and World Peace, I am literally on fire to teach and heal as many people as want to receive this amazingly powerful, peaceful, healing energy! My husband, Dr. Steve, is a brilliant Chiropractor and also my reiki master student. We lead many beautiful reiki shares and classes together and are in such joy to see the unity and love amongst all who participate.

My current practice is largely focused on reiki healing, use of guided meditations, psychic development and spiritual counseling. My reiki training has certainly revealed a huge propensity for psychic gifts -I am very empathic and I hear God speaking through one’s spirit guides and higher self. It is a huge blessing to help others to also connect directly themselves through inner work and training.

All this being said, my journey as a healer and teacher is still in development and I’m so excited to see where God will take me next!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing smooth about it! Lol. The healer’s path is one in which you are required to do much self-work, reflection and consistent self healing to truly be of service to others. It isn’t easy to embrace and integrate one’s shadow self, but we must pave the way for those we seek to help. Otherwise, the help is truly limited.

I have had many moments of self-doubt and fear around really making it as a spiritual business owner. Certainly, there were slim times with less clients and then higher numbers after. This way of living requires great faith and tenacity to thrive.

We’ve been impressed with Radiant Reiki Healing, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Radiant Reiki Healing exists to help others who are truly ready to heal deeply, return to their true selves, and return to alignment with the Divine. Yes! We look forward to offering tailored reiki retreats, both locally and internationally. These will be geared for those who wish to incorporate travel with a wellness focus.
