Growing up between two family businesses in Mexico shaped my future in unexpected ways. At just ten years old, I was taking customer orders in my parents’ bustling taqueria, helping with prep work, and maintaining cleanliness standards. These early experiences instilled in me fundamental principles of food service: impeccable cleanliness, thorough preparation, and exceptional customer care.

In our family flower shop, I discovered a different rhythm of customer service – one less rushed but more deeply collaborative. I learned to translate customers’ visions into tangible creations, developing a creative sensibility that would later influence my approach to food presentation.

When I returned to the United States, I found my place in the restaurant industry. I was fortunate to cross paths with several remarkable chefs who guided my culinary development. My career progression followed the classic trajectory: dishwasher to prep cook, baker to server, back-of-house manager, and finally, executive chef.

This journey has now evolved into private catering, connecting me with extraordinary people along the way. I’ve always maintained that cooking with love makes all the difference—it truly is my secret seasoning.

The most significant hurdle was securing that first opportunity! In today’s industry, finding people who believe in your potential is increasingly difficult. Those initial shifts as an executive chef were daunting—the weight of responsibility sometimes made me question my decision to take on such a role.

However, I soon realized that problem-solving, supporting my team, and finding creative solutions were precisely what drove me. Looking back on every challenging situation, I now understand that these weren’t obstacles but valuable experiences that fostered my growth and shaped my current success.
