Hi Frank, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been working with leather for over a decade. It started just as a hobby on the side. As my skills increased, I started making gifts for family and friends. I became more passionate about the intricacies of the craft and the many materials available. My fiance Susie Haubner and I decided to turn this passion into a business, and now we have The Woodsman Leather.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s always tricky to navigate the ins and outs of a new business. Knowing which hides to buy and which web host to use can be a daunting task at first. When you start with limited capital, every decision is important. I am grateful that together we cover a wide variety of experiences and when one of us hits a wall we have the other to help us through.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Woodsman Leather?
The Woodsman is a boutique leather crafts online store specializing in high-quality wares and unique handmade designs. We utilize full-grain cow leather as well as lambskin, bison, snake, and more. Our styles are influenced by the seasons and mother nature but still retain a level of class and feel of uncommonly high quality. All of our products are handmade by myself with the assistance of my fiance, Susie. We utilize only the highest quality materials that we ourselves would be proud to own. We love being part of the tradition of heirloom quality leather goods.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I am a man of many talents and experiences. I am a classical pianist and multi-instrumentalist. I am an avid camper and outdoorsman. I have lived and survived extreme environments from Alaskan winters to Arizona summers. I have been face-to-face with bears and sharks. I have worked in the film industry with famous people and driven trucks for environmental cleanup companies. Being able to bring all of my life experiences into my craft is part of what makes having this business special to me.
