My journey began with rhythmic gymnastics at a young age, but everything shifted when I stepped into the Marge Patka Dance Studio at age 10, originally searching for hip-hop classes. The moment I saw the ballroom dancers, I fell in love. I had initially wanted to dance to improve my gymnastics floor routines and become more rhythmical, but ballroom quickly became my true passion. I continued gymnastics for three more years before committing fully to ballroom dancing and eventually pursuing it professionally. I’ve been fortunate to be mentored by incredible icons like Shirley Ballas, Nadia Eftedal, and Richard Porter, who deeply influenced my development as a dancer.
Of course, the road wasn’t easy. As a child of an immigrant family from Belarus, we faced significant financial struggles after moving to Los Angeles. My parents worked incredibly hard to support my extracurricular activities, and despite our limited resources, they recognized how passionate I was and made countless sacrifices so I could train. Their support was everything.
Opening Aesthetic Studios was inspired by a desire to bring people together in one creative, empowering space. I realized I could help more people each day if they came to one vibrant location filled with dance energy—a space not limited to dance alone but open to fitness, filming auditions, and other artistic pursuits. What keeps me going today are my students, friends, and the incredible mentors in my life. They inspire me to keep growing and providing the best possible environment for training, learning, and creativity. I also love giving back, and through Aesthetic Studios, we’ve proudly supported more than 30 charities in just over three years.
There isn’t one single defining moment in my journey—it’s been a beautiful accumulation of experiences: my early gymnastics wins, my championship titles in ballroom, my Oscar and Emmy nominations, founding Aesthetic Studios, and becoming a world ballroom dance judge. Every step has helped shape who I am and where I am today.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has definitely had its share of bumps and challenges, both professionally and personally. Most recently, the LA fires forced Aesthetic Studios to shut down for over a week, which had a ripple effect on our operations, scheduling, and community engagement. Like many small businesses, we’ve also faced the struggles of an unstable economy, increasing competition, and moments of low demand—all of which have required resilience, creativity, and constant reinvention to keep our vision alive and thriving.
On a personal level, one of the most intense chapters was opening Aesthetic Studios and getting it off the ground while being pregnant with my baby boy. It was a time of huge transition—building a brand-new business, laying its foundation, and simultaneously preparing for motherhood. Balancing the responsibilities of a growing company with the demands of pregnancy and, later, caring for an infant growing into a toddler, has been one of the most difficult yet deeply rewarding experiences of my life.
There’s been little to no sleep, long days, and constant work around the clock. But in the midst of the grind, I’ve also come to understand something deeper—challenging times reveal the people who truly stand by you. You learn who your real friends and supporters are, and that clarity gives you strength. Every struggle has shaped me, fueled my drive, and reminded me why I do what I do—for the love of the art, for my students, and for the future I’m building, both for my family and for the dance community I care so deeply about.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

The name “Aesthetic” speaks to grace, beauty, and intention—and we live that every day through dance, creativity, and connection. One of our greatest points of pride is seeing how many lives we touch—from kids gaining confidence to couples preparing for their first dance to artists building careers. At Aesthetic Studios, every person who walks through our doors becomes part of something meaningful.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned—both as an artist and as a business owner—is the value of finding your people. Whether it’s a dance teacher who aligns with your goals and energy, or a supportive community that uplifts you, the people you surround yourself with will shape your journey in profound ways. These are the individuals you’ll spend countless hours with, and their energy, mindset, and work ethic will directly impact your own.
I wish I had known earlier how vital it is to build a circle that inspires, challenges, and truly checks in on you. Community matters. So does mentorship. I always recommend working with professionals who’ve already walked the path you’re on—people with real experience, who can guide you through the process and help you avoid unnecessary setbacks.
Also, never be afraid to ask questions. Never be afraid to volunteer, observe, shadow—there’s no task too small when you’re hungry to learn. The biggest growth happens when you’re willing to be humble, to listen, and to let go of the idea that you already know everything. Suppressing the ego opens up so much space for true development.
Creating a meaningful business—one that reflects your passion and serves others—has been one of the greatest joys of my life. It takes work, resilience, and heart. But if you stay curious, stay kind, and stay connected to your “why,” you’ll find your way.
