Exploring Life & Business with Croyce Allen of Youth Destined For Greatness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Croyce Allen

Hi Croyce , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From the very beginning, I’ve always had a passion for uplifting, inspiring, and creating opportunities for young people. I knew that if we could provide the right support, resources, and encouragement, we could help shape the next generation of leaders, dreamers, and changemakers.

That passion led me to establish Youth Destined For Greatness (YDG)—a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through mentorship, education, and community-driven initiatives. Over time, we saw the real impact of our work—kids and teens not only receiving much-needed resources but also gaining the confidence to chase their dreams.

One of our biggest milestones has been the Annual Backpack Giveaway, we just celebrated 10 years of service. What started as a simple effort to provide school supplies has grown into a major community event, bringing together families, sponsors, and role models to support and uplift the youth.

Along the way, I’ve been blessed with an incredible support system—my family (Pele Keith, Barbara Keith, and Cynthia Keith), my community, and our dedicated sponsors and volunteers—who have all played a role in making YDG what it is today.

The journey hasn’t always been easy, but the mission has never changed: to help every young person realize that they are truly destined for greatness. And the best part? We’re just getting started.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting and running a nonprofit like Youth Destined For Greatness (YDG) definitely comes with its challenges. While the mission is rewarding, the journey isn’t always smooth. Some of the struggles We’ve had along the way are Event Planning & Execution. Coordinating events like the Back To School Backpack Giveaway or other initiatives takes a lot of planning, logistics, and teamwork. Issues like last-minute cancellations, securing venues, or ensuring enough supplies for attendees can be stressful. Now there are other challenges non-profits like my own may struggle but with the Los Angeles Community Leaders and local business, YDG has many resources that allows us to grow and expand to reach the youth and young adults in a positive way.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Youth Destined For Greatness (YDG) is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that was founded in 2012. YDG strives to support kids, teens and young adults in pursuing their own intrinsic motivations while being a champion of the same for the next generation of leaders in the world that tries to dictate others. YDG is not just a non-profit —it’s a movement dedicated to empowering, inspiring, and uplifting youth and young adults to reach their full potential.

We focus on youth development, leadership, and community outreach by providing programs, mentorship, and resources that set up the next generation for success. Some of our key initiatives include:

Educational Support & Back-to-School Giveaways – Helping students start the school year with confidence by providing backpacks, school supplies, and motivation.

Leadership & Personal Development – Offering mentorship, workshops, and programs that build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills.

Community Engagement – Partnering with local organizations, schools, and leaders to create opportunities and experiences that inspire young minds.

At the heart of everything we do is a passion for the next generation. We believe every child has greatness within them, and our mission is to help bring that greatness to the surface. Whether it’s through mentorship, resources, or community events, YDG is here to make a lasting impact.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
There are so many people who have played a huge role in the success of Youth Destined For Greatness, and I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude.

First and foremost, my family—Pele Keith, Barbara Keith, and our director Cynthia Keith—thank you for your unwavering support and dedication. You have been the backbone of this nonprofit, helping it grow into what it is today. Your guidance, love, and belief in this mission have made all the difference.

To my supporters at West Angeles Church and Amazing Grace Conservatory, I truly appreciate you for giving me the space to explore, grow, and develop my talents. The lessons and experiences I’ve gained through these incredible communities have shaped me into who I am today.

And to all of our sponsors and donors throughout the years Like Raising Canes and JPMorgan Chase & Co—your generosity and belief in our mission are what allow us to keep making an impact in the community. Every contribution, whether big or small, helps us continue providing resources, opportunities, and encouragement to the next generation.

It truly takes a village, and I’m beyond grateful for every person who has been part of this journey. Thank you all for being a part of Youth Destined For Greatness!
