Exploring Life & Business with Camila Celeste of Celeste and the moon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Camila Celeste.

Hi Camila, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my journey in 2020. The disconnect and isolation made my soul crave for knowledge to help myself out of a closed loop in a ruminating mind. I found my mentor Victoria because I was looking to learn about reiki energy and I studied for 2 years different modalities of healing under her and many others. My favourite ones are Soul portraits, Reiki, Tarot, Akashic Records and Flower therapy.
In one of the classes I took someone talked about how they had a soul portrait done and that sparked something in my heart, I am also an artist and hearing that someone could do this created an immense curiosity in my soul. To blend my 2 passions I did a lot of research and developed a unique experience with reiki energy, our senses and ink. I use reiki to create a safe space for a soul to show themselves and I use my hands as a channel to bring a message from their soul into this realm. I only receive messages of love and light for the beautiful souls that choose to sit with me and have this experience.. I have been bringing Soul portraits with me to many different spaces and places because I believe it is important for us to have an abstract representation of who we are. We are so much more than our physical bodies and sometimes we forget.

Through out my journey I have brought my soul and my skills to music festivals, back yard community gatherings, goddess initiations and in my studio. I believe people have the right to experience all types of energy and healing so I also create community exchanges for people to practice giving and receiving healing with no cost.

Today my practice is located in beautiful Palos verdes estates and I am so very grateful to have the opportunity to serve people that are looking to enter the unseen and release their minds and souls to live in peace.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Sometimes smooth sometimes not really. I struggled to find a physical place that aligned with me. Some would charge extra or change the rules about what I was allowed to do or the times I was allowed to use the space (always have everything in writing!). I learned a lot from these experiences but I was still very hard on myself. Thinking always “why can’t I do better?” So I studied a little bit more, I wrote down what had happened and how I would have liked to handle some of these situations to remember for the future me. I am still learning how to be more loving to the little me that lives in my heart. This has been one of the hardest struggles for me. How can I be more gentle towards my self? often I am not but I forget that I started a business with no business background or experience in this area and I have had to learn it all. I believe it takes guts to start any kind of business, experience or no experience. So I have been building up my courage to take on bigger projects. Every time I present ideas that get rejected or create events no one attends to, I am still learning and building up my skill set. Changing my mind set into “I am learning” not into “I failed” has allowed me to keep creating instead of feeling stuck. And you know rejection is hard to deal with but once you understand that rejection is information about you or the other person you can accept rejection. I have learned to not take things personally and this was a game changer for me. I no longer need the validation of a third party to know that I am worthy.

I also had to do a lot of learning in the boundaries department. Learning when an event is not for me and saying no without feeling guilt. Understanding my boundaries and what I can or cannot do for someone gave me more confidence and forced me to work on my inner strength. To value myself and my time has been a challenging lesson.

As you know, we’re big fans of Celeste and the moon. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Celeste and the Moon is a healing practice that was created with the belief that love is the most powerful medicine and that it lives inside every one of us, waiting to be remembered.

We use different modalities to bring someone back into clarity; Reiki, Tarot, Akashic Records, Soul Portraits, and Bach Flower Therapy. Each of them chosen because it meets people where they are and gently guides them back to themselves. Our work is for women, femmes and others of all ages walking a path of spirituality and personal growth, and for men who are ready to feel fully, to let go, to soften, and to show up for themselves and the people they love without possession or pretense.

What we are most know for is the Soul Portraits. Most healing modalities still require you to talk and explain yourself but The Soul Portrait just asks you to show up and be present. It bypasses the mind entirely, you can’t think your way into it. The practitioner is a witness in the most ancient, philosophical sense of the word, someone who creates a sacred container where another person can finally be seen without judgment, without explanation, without performance. What lands on the page isn’t your face it’s the form of you, the truer version that exists beneath the social mask, beneath the story you tell about yourself and the image that comes out is proof that the encounter happened, that it was real. Healing often feels invisible and this experience makes it tangible, a new way to remember that you are so much more than your physical body.

What sets us apart is the intention that goes into every session. Everything we do comes from and sprouts out of love. When you leave a session with Celeste, the hope is that you walk away feeling more loved, more like yourself, and more connected to the truth of who you are.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Going to the beach. A remote beach where my grandma had a little house. I would spend all summer here with my cousins waking up to the sound of the waves. Laying down in the warm sand and getting my back burned with the hot sun. Building and destroying sand castles. Exploring the ocean with my snorkel.
