Exploring Life & Business with Areli Vuong of Happy.Booth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Areli Vuong.

Areli, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The idea to start a photo booth business started in August 2019 (right before COVID). It stems from a conversation I had with my business partner on how cool it would be to have our own business. We play with the idea of many different side hustles.. but, ultimately the photobooth business got stuck in my mind.

With little to no knowledge about photography or a thing about this field, I decided to take action and book my first gig the same week without having any actual equipment. I was hooked! I realized that if I’m able to market services without any actual equipment or experience I could probably make it happen.. from there on I dived into entrepreneurship…

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the beginning, the biggest struggle was what the photobooth entails: which was a good DSLR camera, software, lighting, props, backdrop, and transportation. It was a big wake-up call that it was not as simple as it seemed.. and my first gig was 5 days away.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Happy? Booth?
Happy Photobooth is more than just a service it’s an interactive experience for the guest. In most events, it’s the highlight of the party. It brings people together to capture a memory that turns into a keepsake that they take home and talked about for years to come. As a minority woman in a business owned by mostly males I have broken through the barriers and have set Happy.Booth is a reputable company here in Southern California.

Although I’m very proud of all the high-end celebrity and corporate events I have under my belt ( Conor Mcgregor, Odell Beckham Jr. Draya Michelle, MTV teen mom, and many more) my proudest achievement is been “the people’s photobooth” why? because they are the ones who gave me a chance and they are the reason why I’m able to do what I love.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
At the end of the day, I’m just a woman trying to inspire my kids that everything starts with an idea and with determination thing is possible.
