Exploring Life & Business with Ana Silvani of WeBook Publishing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Silvani. Them and their team share their story with us below:

For years, Ana Silvani, Founder of WeBook Publishing, tried to get a fix for her “Half Love” – which she defines as having a yearning desire for home when immigrating to another country while appreciating the new opportunity.

She had the urge to free Ana living within, hidden between layer after layer of other people’s expectations. Living abroad put her in a cage, and she needed to free herself in order to heal generational wounds. That was when she started to write a love letter about her immigrant journey. Ten years later, she took those 77 poems and translated them herself. Finally, they became 154 bilingual poems that compose the book “Half Love, Metade Amor.”

WeBook Publishing was born when Ana decided to publish her first poetry book. She could not find a company that would value and give her the space and opportunity she wanted – and needed. So, as any other fierce Latina would do, she learned the market and started her own imprint to support herself and other fellow writers, especially Latinas.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
In the U.S., Ana Silvani struggled since day one: with the food, the weather, the language, the culture, and the loneliness. She was lost in translation for so many years, but kept on trying, worked hard, and broke her smart-ass ego working on entry-level jobs that had nothing to do with her passion and true potential. Until one day, Ana told herself: “I need to start over, or else I’ll break. It’s now or never.” It was time to leave her safe job behind and follow her heart.

Entrepreneurship is never that easy, especially during a pandemic, but Ana considers herself lucky to be able to find an interesting pool of must-read authors to work with. Sure, having a start-up is a constant battle to find the right investors and keep the team motivated. Nonetheless, everyone involved with WeBook Publishing is the cherry on top and gives their best to make sure the company keeps its doors open and is a worldwide success.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
WeBook Publishing is a boutique press that connects aspiring authors and readers together. We curate stories – fiction and non-fiction. As an independent publisher working mostly with immigrant and first-generation authors, the focus on Latinx helps to amplify voices in a diverse community that strive to make a difference in the world.

Many people have dreams of becoming successful authors. Their stories and ideas can benefit the world with innovation. However, very few of them live to realize such dreams of becoming renowned writers. We select a handful of authors each year and guide them through the whole manuscript process. From the conception of ideas to their copy editing, from the marketing plan until their work is ready for publication and distribution worldwide.

At WeBook, our vision strives to be one of the best companies for authors to bring their dreams to fruition. This is why we will stop at nothing to ensure your brand is given the right promotion. Our experts understand everything about publishing books and all the steps involved.
