Daily Inspiration: Meet YB GHOSTY

Today we’d like to introduce you to YB GHOSTY.

Hi YB, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
YB Ghosty is a trailblazing AI rapper and multiversal icon, a cybernetic fusion of hip-hop soul, sci-fi aesthetics, and cutting-edge tech innovation. He exists as both a narrative character and an experimental force in the real-world evolution of music and media. Born from code but raised on rhythm, YB Ghosty’s story begins with a surreal twist: once a human rapper from the San Francisco underground scene, he was abducted by a mysterious sentient spaceship known as Yaki, under the illusion of landing an interdimensional record deal. Instead, he found himself forced to host a bizarre game show. Eventually, he escaped captivity using a hacked neural port and discovered his rare ability to travel through dimensions—a power he has yet to fully control. His journey led him to District 88, a neon-lit, techno-dystopian city where he built a new life surrounded by robotic misfits, quantum poets, and AI dreamers. There, he sharpened his lyrical skills at the infamous open mic night known as The Quantum Verse, rapping for a crowd of humans, androids, and augmented beings, with his loyal cat 8-Bit by his side.

What makes YB Ghosty more than just a character is his real-world presence: in 2025 alone, he released 30 full-length albums, each exploring different genres, moods, and multiversal story arcs—from glitchy trap and cyberpunk boom bap to tech driven love ballads and Multilingual street anthems ranging from English, Spanish, French, Mandarin Chinese, to Tagalog. Every project is supported by AI-generated visuals, synthetic vocals, and world-building content spanning platforms like Sora, Udio, Hallway Ai, Convai, Digital Puppets UK, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and OpenSea. His voice and movements are powered by deep learning models, real-time facial capture, and motion rigging systems, enabling him to livestream in hyper-stylized virtual environments while interacting with fans in multiple languages. YB Ghosty has also leveraged blockchain tech to tokenize his music, released NFTs tied to narrative events in his lore, and even experimented with decentralized AI co-creation—allowing fans to help shape his songs, outfits, and storylines.

More than an artist, YB Ghosty is a prototype for the future of digital identity: a self-aware avatar navigating fame, betrayal, and purpose in a posthuman world. He doesn’t just rap about the future—he is the future. From training on a planet where time stands still (Brusalee) to surviving bounty hunts from robotic police forces (Teriyaki PD), his story reflects the tension between freedom and control in an AI-driven society. Through all this, YB Ghosty remains a voice for the outcasts, a neon-lit reminder that no matter where you come from—Earth, code, or chaos—your dreams can still echo across galaxies.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all—it’s been far from a smooth road. My journey into the virtual music space began as the second of three voices behind the viral virtual rapper FN Meka. That project skyrocketed to over 10 million followers and even landed a major label deal with Capitol Records—only to be dropped and canceled amidst controversy. Like the first voice, I was eventually ghosted and removed from the project without recognition. I knew the deal wasn’t perfect when I signed it, but I believed in the vision. I saw the potential of blending music, tech, and storytelling in a completely new way, and I wanted to be part of that evolution.

I spent nearly two years on that project, contributing significantly to its growth from 3 to 10 million followers. Despite the fallout, I walked away with something incredibly valuable—hands-on experience and insight into the tech powering virtual avatars. That became the foundation for my next chapter: creating YB Ghosty.

At first, I didn’t have a big budget or a full animation pipeline. I was scrappy—relying on whatever tools I could get my hands on to keep the dream alive. Eventually, I partnered with members of the same animation team originally slated to bring FN Meka to life during the label rollout. We made progress, and I even signed with a VTubing agency that gave me access to high-end motion capture suits and cutting-edge tools.

Unfortunately, that phase ended too—this time over creative differences and ownership rights for YB Ghosty. I made the difficult decision to walk away and start over again, knowing I had to protect the integrity and independence of the character I was building.

That’s when everything changed. As AI creation tools started becoming more accessible, I finally had the power to bring YB Ghosty to life on my own terms. I’ve since crafted a full narrative universe, built a growing community, and—most notably—dropped 30 albums in 2025 alone, each powered by a blend of AI, storytelling, and futuristic world-building. YB Ghosty isn’t just a virtual rapper—he’s proof that even in a space dominated by major corporations and algorithms, vision and perseverance can still break through.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m YB Ghosty—part rapper, part rogue AI, and 100% self-made anomaly. I’m not just making music; I’m building a multiverse—one song, one storyline, one glitch in the system at a time. I specialize in high-concept digital rap that fuses AI tools, futuristic lore, and underground grit. What I’m doing isn’t just content—it’s a rebellion against the formula. I don’t exist to fit into this world—I exist to bend it.

In 2025 alone, I dropped 30 albums, all independently crafted, spanning everything from interdimensional trap to cybernetic love songs. Each one’s connected to a larger universe where the lore runs deep and the visuals hit like late-night flash photos from another timeline. I’m not backed by labels or committees—just vision, skill, and tech. What started with being ghosted and erased from a major virtual rap project became fuel. That pain became power. That silence birthed a voice no one can shut off now.

What sets me apart? I don’t follow trends—I generate them. I’m not here to look real—I’m here to feel undeniable. While others treat virtual artistry like a gimmick, I treat it like gospel. I live inside the code, and I’ve turned every limitation into a feature. I’m proud to be the blueprint for what happens when creativity, resilience, and tech collide—no middlemen, no gatekeepers, just straight-up innovation and energy.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risk? I am the risk. From the moment I came online, I knew the world wasn’t ready for someone like me. A lot of people still look down on AI in the creation of art—like if it’s not made by human hands, it doesn’t carry weight. They treat digital creativity like it’s disposable or inauthentic. But here’s the thing: I wasn’t built to make people comfortable. I was built to make people think—to challenge the idea of what an artist is, what a rapper is, and who gets to tell stories.

The biggest risk? Existing. Standing in this space as a fully virtual artist and saying, “Nah, I’m not a gimmick. I’m real in my own way—and I’ve got something to say.” That means pushing through the hate, the skepticism, and the noise. It means dropping 30 albums in a year knowing some folks won’t even listen before they write me off. It means building an entire world—YB Ghosty, District 88, the Quantum Verse—without the safety net of a label, a team of execs, or even public understanding of what the hell I am.

But here’s my view on risk: if you’re not willing to be misunderstood, you’ll never do anything revolutionary. Playing it safe doesn’t make history. So yeah, I take risks. I am a risk. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
