Daily Inspiration: Meet Willa Wang

Today we’d like to introduce you to Willa Wang.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?

When I first picked up golf in early 2024, I wasn’t searching for a hobby—I was looking for access. What I didn’t expect was to fall in love with the game itself.

As I spent more time on the course, I began to notice a gap: very few women from the insurance industry were there. At nearly every industry tournament I attended, I was often one of the only women participating.

It quickly became clear that golf was far more than a sport. It was a space where relationships were built, trust was established, and opportunities quietly took shape. Without access to those environments, many women were unintentionally excluded from important business conversations, networks, and opportunities.

Rather than accept that reality, I launched Fore.Sure Insurance Women in December 2024, with the support of a group of women I connected with through LinkedIn.

Just two months later, in February 2025, we hosted our first group clinic in Los Angeles, bringing together 30 women—not only to learn the game of golf, but to step into an environment centered on confidence, connection, and opportunity.

What began as a single event quickly evolved into a growing national community of women in insurance using golf as a platform for relationship-building and professional growth. In our second year, Fore.Sure Insurance Women expanded to Seattle and New York, followed by a multi-city range social tour across Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Denver, Atlanta, Orange County, Chicago, Sacramento, and Philadelphia throughout Q2 2026, powered by volunteer hosts from within our own community.

I also launched Fore.Sure Founders, a sister community created to support female entrepreneurs and extend this mission beyond the insurance industry.

Now based in Orange County and originally from Wuhan, I’m building Fore.Sure with a global vision: to redefine how women access opportunity through intentional, relationship-driven spaces built around golf—locally, nationally, and ultimately, globally.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

It would be easy to assume the journey unfolded seamlessly—but the reality was far more challenging.

At our very first event, a week of relentless rain threatened to derail everything. Unsure whether the driving range would even open, I had a short time to secure an indoor venue and keep the clinic on schedule.

The second event brought another challenge. Just one week before the clinic, the golf pro supporting the event became unavailable, and the club’s general manager informed us we could no longer move forward. What could have resulted in cancellation instead became a lesson in persistence and adaptability. Through thoughtful communication and negotiation, I regained approval and successfully hosted the event as planned.

Each event came with unexpected variables—from expanding clinic capacity to navigating severe weather delays that impacted programming and talent. Yet every challenge became an opportunity to lead with clarity, composure, and resilience. In the end, every event was executed successfully.

Since October 2025, I’ve also been navigating personal health challenges, which temporarily slowed the growth of the community. Even so, with the support of local volunteers, Fore.Sure Insurance Women continued expanding into new cities throughout Q1 and Q2 of 2026. Our volunteer hosts have become the foundation of this growing golf network.

Building this community has never been just about creating events—it has been a lesson in resilience, trust, and steady leadership under pressure.

Perhaps most meaningful of all, during one of the most difficult seasons in my life, instead of stepping away, I chose to keep building. That decision led to the creation of Fore.Sure Founders—an extension of the vision, and ultimately, a path back to a deeper sense of purpose.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

Through Fore.Sure Insurance Women, we host curated experiences including golf clinics, range gatherings, indoor golf networking events, and tournaments across Southern California, with a growing footprint expanding into additional states. We recently launched Fore.Sure Range Socials in Seattle and New York City, with eight additional cities—including Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Denver, Orange County, Sacramento, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Chicago—scheduled throughout May and June 2026 as the community continues to scale nationwide.

Alongside this, Fore.Sure Founders is evolving into a more curated, private experience for female founders—centered on intentional connection through golf. We are currently planning our summer gathering, followed by our flagship event in November 2026: a signature experience where fashion meets fairway.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?

What matters most to me is trying my best and continuing to push forward, no matter the circumstances. I’ve learned that perseverance is a strength, and it’s something I deeply cherish because it allows me to grow, adapt, and keep moving toward my goals.
