Today we’d like to introduce you to Tay-Jaughn Hope.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m from Plainfield, NJ. I was raised by my grandparents on my father’s side. I didn’t see my mother or father that much, my father was in the military and my mom moved a lot. I started piano & tap dance at four years old, sang in a choir, did ballet, hip hop & jazz dance. My neighborhood in Plainfield wasn’t the worst but every night there was plenty of gunshots. As I got older, I went into basketball and track. I was cut from my high school basketball multiple times. I felt like everyone was against me, kids made fun of me, I stood up for myself tho. I stayed true to myself and our worked everyone. I used to break & sneak into gyms and be at gyms 5am in the morning or till 3am at night. After all of that, I still managed to play college basketball and run college track. College basketball was hard, I couldn’t get the minutes I thought I deserved, even after being constantly acknowledged as one of the better talents and hardest workers, I never gave up. I stopped playing, worked part-time, I always wanted to model, act, and make music… I graduate college, take a trip to California and went through a rough heartbreak…it brought me into a journey of positivity. I started spreading the love and started saving people. I moved to California, acted on MTV revenge pranks, and now I’m a signed model to LA models under BRI’GEID Agency. I’ll be able to quit my job in a couple of months and I’ll be able to feed my family. Now I have an album coming out that I built from scratch in my in home recording studio. I will never stop.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Getting cut from the basketball team. Not having a mother or father around, my little brother getting locked up in jail, my grandparents getting sick, I had little to no friends I high school, I’ve went to therapy in college to battle my depression, and I’ve battled financial struggles as long as I could remember. My neighborhood was filled with gang violence, drug sale, and weapon abuse as well.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work at enterprise rent a car. I’m ready to move on. I rent cars and sell. I’m known for spreading positivity, motivating others, and accomplishing everything. What sets me apart is the ability to do everything. I’m my own Barber, I edit YouTube videos, music videos, I’m a recording engineer, a recording artist, I pray, meditate, and workout, I model professionally, I was a backup singer for a recording artist from Africa, and those three songs went in the radio. I’ve been a part of the heritage show choir that won the McDonald’s gospel feats three times. I’ve acted for MTV revenge prank (episode 19). I also read and pray religiously. God first.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Money rules the world, but family, love, and your peace RUNS YOU.
Don’t let the fear of looking stupid stop you from making a decision you want to make.
