Daily Inspiration: Meet Sarah Paasch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Paasch.

Hi Sarah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
What started as a yoga practice a few days a week in 2013 transformed into a fully integrated spiritual lifestyle and passion for healing. After experiencing transformative results from my own self-healing journey and a twist of fate correlated with a major astrology transit, in 2017 I left a career as a hospital pharmacist in Nebraska to begin my practice as a life coach and astrologer in Southern California.

In the four years prior to this transition, I started seeing the value of different holistic healing modalities such as Reiki, mindset work, coaching and astrology–from the inside out. As I was investigating these holistic approaches and working with a coach, I was able to reverse or completely eliminate chronic medical diagnoses, stop chronic prescription medications, successfully change unhelpful patterns of behavior within work and relationships, and most importantly-feel truly at peace with myself and my life. While I love science and the many advantages of Western medicine, I realized my true passion and calling was in the deep, inner-healing work.

My business name, Growing Deep, was born from a reflection of where I have found the most powerful and effective healing pathway toward genuine freedom and happiness deep within. I now work with clients to really slow down and dive deep into where they feel blocked and seek change. Whether it is a limiting belief, unresolved emotional memory, or difficulty changing a self-sabotaging behavior, in order to resolve the issue, I support clients to identify the root of the difficulty.

Often times pain (physical, emotional or mental) is a symptom of a deeper issue seeking to be resolved, and this is where I focus my coaching work. With the help of my intuitive gifts, a variety of coaching, training and personal experience with self-healing, I am able to guide clients into the deeper awareness of living in their unconscious and back towards their inner wisdom and innate capacity for healing. Disclaimer! I appreciate the support of Western medicine and would never subscribe to eliminating it as an ally for health; however, I have personally witnessed miraculous and lasting changes when Western medicine strategies are used in tandem with addressing internal connections to any symptoms of dis-ease/disease with loving awareness.

Whether it’s supporting others through feeling safe and strong in their body in a yoga class, witnessing themselves with compassion and empowerment through the unbiased lens of astrology, or diving deep into inquiry within the transformational container of coaching, I feel SO blessed that this is what I get to do for a living. I love watching others grow, and I love being a participant in their development of a deep and rich internal root system of self-awareness and self-referral. The deeper and healthier the root system, the higher the branches of creativity, joy and connection are able to grow. Imagine a world where everyone reaches out from this depth of self-connection!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Leaving a position as a hospital pharmacist and moving across the country to follow my passion and start my own business has been the absolute OPPOSITE of smooth! I knew when I made the transition, I would be choosing a path that required courage, creativity and perseverance, and I have surely been tested in ways I could have never imagined.

Overall, some of the greatest struggles I’ve found have been working through the self-doubt and imposter syndrome that accompanies every stage of new growth. Luckily, this is what I do for a living, and I am surrounded by other badass coaches and healers, so I have the tools and support system to move through the inner blocks. And it’s definitely WORK every time they show up!

I’ve also found the entrepreneurial path to be lonely at times, so it has been very important to surround myself with other people pursuing their dreams in order to stay motivated and connected to my bigger vision. Whether it’s weekly mastermind calls with colleagues or enrolling in a live course, I find it so necessary to be in constant contact with people that inspire and encourage me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I think what sets me apart from other coaches and astrologers the most is my passion. I am absolutely obsessed with what I do and am in a constant state of learning and personal growth using astrology and a variety of coaching modalities in my everyday life!

Additionally, in my client work I’m known for weaving astrology into coaching and coaching into astrology. I find this to be such a beautiful synergy and rich collaboration through integrating spiritual and practical approaches for ongoing self-development. I really value practical application, especially of spiritual and metaphysical concepts, so if it isn’t improving your ability to navigate life in an effective and confident way, it’s not actually valuable in my opinion.

Astrology with a coaching lens, provides compassionate guidance and practical strategy for navigating personal transits. It’s helpful to know what’s happening astrologically, and it’s even more helpful to know how to make the most out of the growth potential through applying coaching techniques that match each personal transit. For example, a client going through a major Saturn transit is going to need to slow down, clarify priorities and make some difficult choices in order to honor the need for maturation and responsibility. For this client, I might focus on inquiry around core values, boundaries and any limiting beliefs around personal capability.

And coaching with astrology provides context and timing to what my clients are growing through. This provides validation, deeper meaning and a specific timeline to prepare for and work successfully with both subjectively expansive and difficult transits. If we come back to the previous example, the client would know specific dates of beginning, end and when to expect the most challenging aspects of their Saturn transit. Additionally, I provide any related dates from the past to better inform potential repeating themes and stimulate deeper inner reflection around the potential trajectory of their current transit.

Essentially, astrology is a language that gives a personalized weather report for your life path, day-by-day, month-by-month, year-by-year, etc. Coaching is a container that holds you accountable and calls you forward. Together, it’s freaking magic and I’m obsessed.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Trust what lights you up and don’t be afraid to do things differently! I’ll never forget in the beginning of this journey when a trusted mentor offered feedback for my professional marketing and suggested I pivot towards a more reserved style of self-expression in order to make myself more appealing to potential clientele. And I totally understand her motivation and logic behind this feedback; however, it was one of the worst things I could have heard at that time.

In truth, I’ve had the most success when I’ve been the most authentic and shared more of my full-spectrum personality. Learning to trust my joy as a judge for business decisions has been one of the most profitable lessons I’ve learned. It’s also expanded the creative space for trying different strategies! Ultimately, I think learning to trust yourself is an invaluable ally for success in all areas of life including building your own business.
