Daily Inspiration: Meet Olga Parno

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olga Parno.

Hi Olga, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
You know me today as Founder/CEO of Masktini living with my family in sunny California. I am originally from Siberia, Russia, born to a family of doctors. I did not follow my parents’ steps and studied English. At the age of 18, I came to NYC, studied Finance, worked on Wall St, moved to California, continued working in Finance. My passion for skincare started early on in my life and became very apparent when I was working crazy hours in Finance. Stress and long hours make it difficult to have beautiful glowing skin. Let’s admit it, the way we look on the outside impacts how we feel on the inside and how we show up in the world. I started researching the beauty industry and working on the concept of my own brand in 2009. It took me a few years and a ton of courage to launch Masktini skincare in July of 2019. It’s been a true journey.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
When we see successful businesses or people we see the top of the iceberg. We don’t see the failure, mistakes, disappointments, tremendous amount of work, etc… I am truly lucky to have an amazing team at Masktini. We’ve had some setbacks, changed course a few times but the biggest obstacle has been supply chain interruptions related to Covid. It makes it difficult to plan new product launches and refill existing products. We have six new products coming to market this year, and many exciting changes are coming! Stay tuned

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Masktini is my current business project. I founded the company in July 2019. As an Indie brand owner, I know all aspects of the business. My main focus is on operations and expansion/sales. Masktini is a skincare brand for a modern, busy girl on the go. We believe in skinimalism, picking advanced sustainable ingredients, and formulating effective skincare for sensitive skin. I am proud that as a brand we are not about skin regimens/routines rather about creating an effortless skincare experience.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in a traditional family, where both parents worked. My younger brother and I were pretty much on our own. I loved school and studied a lot (typical A student, participating in academic competitions, singing, heavily involved in school life). I was definitely focused, very social, and very ambitious.
