Daily Inspiration: Meet Mike Schmid

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Schmid.

Hi Mike, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been working in the music industry for over 20 years in many different capacities: as a keyboard player for Miley Cyrus, the Chainsmokers, and lots of others, as a singer/songwriter with several solo albums, as a topliner for many DJs all over the world, as a mixing and mastering engineer. I like to stay busy and always keep learning. I’ve decided to put all these services under one roof this year and opened SOUNDSUGAR: a company that helps artists complete their songs in any stage of the process.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always challenges. And many times, they come from within. Imposter Syndrome is real. And I’d love to say something glib like “Just believe in yourself”, but for me, the remedy is just that I’m too excited and obsessed with the work to let doubt hold me back.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The services I provide are:

Songwriting

Production

Keyboards

Vocals

Arranging

Recording

Editing/cleanup

Mixing

Mastering

But what sets me apart is my sensitivity to the song, and the warmth and feeling I can bring to it.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I’m a huge film buff with an encyclopedic knowledge of movies.
