Daily Inspiration: Meet Joelle ( Peanut ) Logan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joelle ( Peanut ) Logan.

Hi Joelle ( Peanut ), it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Joelle Logan is a dancer, mentor, teacher, and performer who grew up in San Diego California. She started dancing at age 3 and quickly fell in love with it.

She grew up in at studio in Oceanside California, called Dance Unlimited Performing Arts Academy, where she worked with choreographers like Eddie Barcello, Mandy Bahnuik, Brittnany Boole, Krista Hale, and Rebecca Hamrock. All people who she genuinely and truly looked up to.

As Joelle‘s growth began to increase, so did her passion for dance. At age 15 she got signed with Bloc LA and started dancing professionally. She feels honored to have been able to be a part of the dance world and in industry at such a young age. Starring in Disney shows, movies, music videos, podcasts, and doing print work.

Joelle now focuses her career on helping and sharing her passion for dance with others. She teaches continuously all up and down the coast and has started teaching out of state as well as out of the country.

Being able to share her love for Dance is something that has truly touched and inspired her. Her ultimate end goal is to eventually one day create a foundation to help kids who are mentally disabled learn therapeutically through dance.

Joelle hopes to forever continue teaching and dancing while hoping to help and inspire everyone around her.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Growing up dancing, one of the biggest struggles I faced was constantly feeling like I was in competition with everyone around me. Dance can really affect your mindset! It’s easy to get caught up comparing yourself to others, questioning if you’re good enough, and letting outside opinions define your worth. Over time, I had to learn that the only person I should truly be in competition with is myself. Instead of worrying about what others thought of me, I had to shift my focus inward and work on being better than the dancer I was yesterday. That mindset shift has helped me grow not just in dance, but as a person.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Right now, my main focus is on teaching and mentoring dancers of all ages from young kids just starting out to adults rediscovering their love for movement. I specialize in helping dancers not only develop their technique but also connect with their true goals and passions, both in and out of the studio. One thing I’m especially proud of is my student Ava. Watching her grow over the past year has been truly incredible her dedication, passion, and progress have been so inspiring. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing your students thrive and succeed, knowing you played a small part in helping them believe in themselves. That’s what sets my work apart, it’s rooted in connection, personal growth, and helping each dancer discover their own unique voice.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I feel really lucky when it comes to mentors I’ve had some amazing people take me under their wing and truly invest in me. One of the biggest influences was Eddie Barcello. He taught me how to teach, brought me along to wherever he was working, and really pushed me to grow. I’m still close with all of my mentors, and those relationships have meant the world to me. That said, the LA dance world can be tricky to navigate. It’s tough to find mentors as an adult who genuinely want to see you grow and who truly believe in you. What’s helped me a lot has been finding a strong, supportive community through church especially people who are also involved in dance. They’ve been some of the most grounded and encouraging souls I’ve met in LA, and having that kind of community has made a huge difference.
