Today we’d like to introduce you to Joedian Faith.
Hi Joedian, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started in Atlanta. Without a doubt, New York put the battery in my back to expand and allow me to believe that there’s always more to the story.
But at the age of 17, I was blessed to leave everything that made me comfortable and go somewhere where I wasn’t sure how the journey would go. Then it just went.
Doors opened—from the Atlanta Hawks, to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, to Tyler Perry Studios. And that right there was another reminder for me that I was actually meant to do this.
To be in rooms that weren’t always the easiest to get into unless you knew somebody who knew somebody who knew somebody about what was going on.
And if I’m being transparent, no one likes to be in the background all the time. But from 17–21, it wasn’t that deep for me. My mind was set on, “Teach me, so I can take all that I know and build my own with it.”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I don’t think the road to destiny has ever been a smooth road unless one has the opportunity to take shortcuts throughout their process, which was never the case for me.
The only struggle I had was the struggle to believe that I was worthy. And that was because I come from haters. People who would compete with me in their minds and try to make me look so small in their eyes.
And I think as a teenager, you don’t really grasp what the hell that is for. But once you hit your mid-twenties, you’re able to look back and lock back in immediately.
Because no longer are you asking yourself, “Am I good enough?” You’re looking at history and acknowledging that there’s no way I can’t be good at all if this is how far life has brought me.
Also, not to mention, God is good.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would say I’m known for being the woman who wears many hats.
I don’t know if I can be boxed because I have never been in one for a long period of time. But I specialize in telling stories. Whether it’s through my worship or simply my ability to take a script and bring it back to life.
Acting has given me the freedom to explore personalities I wouldn’t dare to play with if I wasn’t doing it.
I’m most proud of my work ethic. My ability to know when rest is needed and not explain to anyone why I would need to put my mental health first.
I think what sets me apart is knowing what’s real and what’s not.
At this age, what is following a crowd? You can’t lead and follow at the same time, and that’s real.
So I don’t follow.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Ahhhh, you can find me on social media @Joediannn
a little dm goes a long way. I read them, I look into them, and when it’s right, we work.
