Hi Jerry, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
A couple years ago I found myself on hiatus from television production. I work as a graphic artist and animator and I was looking for a creative project during the break. I designed a few shirts entirely for myself, just for fun. One of them, a Hawaiian shirt celebrating Lucha Libre, consistently got remarks like “cool shirt” or folks asking where I got it. My daughter suggested setting up a Shopify site and selling it online.

So I created nerdchicboutique.com on a trial plan. I kept telling myself that as long as the store paid for itself, I’d keep it open. I couldn’t have a store with just a few designs, so I designed more. I added other products like shoes and bags. Today I have over 50 items. I guess you could say I accidentally fell into being a clothing designer.

For over three decades, Jerry Witt has been a dynamic force in the landscape of visual storytelling, his career a testament to a restless creative spirit. As the driving force behind Motion City Films, Jerry established a production house in Los Angeles 35 years ago, initially focusing on impactful corporate communications before expanding his directorial vision to commercials, music videos, and ultimately, the independent feature film “Last Words.”

This experience honed his ability to craft compelling narratives and guide projects from concept to final cut. Beyond the linear world of film, Jerry recognized the burgeoning potential of interactive media, expertly transitioning Motion City Films into a digital development powerhouse, creating engaging websites, games, motion rides, kiosks, and immersive experiences. This adaptability and forward-thinking approach have become hallmarks of his career.

Jerry’s creative toolkit extends beyond the digital canvas. His extensive experience in television production, designing and animating intricate screens for on-set playback, showcases a keen eye for detail and a mastery of visual information design within high-pressure production environments.
