Daily Inspiration: Meet Giuliano Squitieri

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giuliano Squitieri

Hi Giuliano, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey has been shaped by a deep passion for innovation, leadership, and turning ideas into reality. I’ve had the privilege of studying in some of the world’s most dynamic academic environments—starting at the University of Liverpool, then moving to Florida International University, and now furthering my education through the Joint Master in Global Economic Governance and Public Affairs, which has taken me across Rome, Berlin, and Nice. Each of these experiences has given me a global perspective, a strong network, and the ability to think beyond borders.

But I’ve never been one to just follow a path—I believe in creating new ones. That’s why I founded the Outdoor Film Festival, a bold and visionary project that has grown into a major cultural event, attracting thousands of attendees. Beyond that, I’ve organized high-impact events featuring top leaders, astronauts, entrepreneurs, and policymakers, always pushing the limits of what’s possible.

I see myself as a revolutionary—someone who challenges the status quo and dares to transform big ideas into reality. My motto has always been: “If you dream it, you can do it.” And that’s exactly what I live by. Whether in business, culture, or governance, my mission is to inspire and build a future where vision and action go hand in hand.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No journey worth taking is ever completely smooth, and mine has been no exception. Every step of the way, I’ve faced challenges that tested my resilience, but I’ve always believed that obstacles are just opportunities in disguise.

One of the biggest struggles was when I moved to the UK at 18. Due to health issues, I couldn’t take a flight, so I had to travel for two days by car to get there. It was a difficult moment, but it also reinforced my determination—when you truly want something, you find a way. Studying across multiple countries also meant constantly adapting to new environments, cultures, and academic systems, which wasn’t always easy, but it helped me develop a global mindset and the ability to navigate uncertainty.

When I founded Outdoor Film Festival, I faced skepticism. Building something from scratch, especially in a competitive industry, meant convincing people to believe in a vision that only I could see at first. Raising funds, securing top-tier guests, and growing the event into a recognized platform required relentless effort, but I never backed down.

Balancing my entrepreneurial projects, academic journey, and my ambitions in governance has also been a challenge. Time is always limited, and prioritizing the right opportunities is key. Challenges come and go, but vision, perseverance, and bold action make the difference.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I define myself as both an Artistic Director and an entrepreneur, but at my core, I am a visionary—someone who thrives on turning bold ideas into reality. My work revolves around creating experiences that leave a lasting impact, whether through film, culture, or large-scale events.

I am the founder and director of the Outdoor Film Festival, an international event that brings together cinema, music, and innovation, attracting thousands of attendees and featuring renowned artists, filmmakers, and industry leaders. Beyond that, I have organized high-profile cultural and entrepreneurial events, hosting figures from NASA engineers to top business leaders and policymakers. My projects are not just about entertainment—they are platforms for inspiration, dialogue, and transformation.

What sets me apart is my ability to dream big and execute even bigger. Many people have ideas, but few have the determination to make them happen. I don’t just organize events—I create movements. My ability to connect different industries, bring in top-tier guests, and elevate experiences beyond expectations is what defines my work.

I’m most proud of the Outdoor Film Festival, which started as an ambitious vision and has grown into a recognized and respected event. But beyond the numbers and success, what truly fulfills me is seeing how my work inspires people—whether it’s young creatives who find a stage at my festival or entrepreneurs who are motivated by the events I organize.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
The Crisis taught me three key lessons: adaptability is survival, innovation thrives in uncertainty, and human connection is irreplaceable. It showed me that challenges can fuel creativity, and those who date to reinvent themselves emerge stronger.
