Today we’d like to introduce you to Elijah Holt
Hi Elijah , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in the gymnastics gym my parents owned, so gymnastics was basically all I ever knew. My three older brothers and my dad were all gymnasts, and it was just part of the family lifestyle. I started at a really young age, and it became my foundation. I was good at it, and it kept me in great shape while giving me the freedom to flip around whenever I wanted.
It wasn’t until college that I realized something—I didn’t actually enjoy competing. The whole idea of training all year just to be better than others and get ranked didn’t feel fulfilling anymore. I still loved the movement, though, and knew I wanted to showcase my talents in a different way. That’s when I decided to pursue the circus. It felt like the perfect space for me to use my skills while creating something that inspired people, like I was inspired to chase my dreams in the first place.
Then content creation came into the picture almost by accident. I realized it was another way for me to connect with people from all over the world. It felt similar to being on stage, but instead of a venue, I was performing on a platform. I love the interaction, and the creative side of it is what really drew me in. Coming up with concepts and challenging myself to create engaging content has not only helped me grow as a content creator but has also made me better in my live performances.
One of the standout moments in my career was when I started making videos of myself jumping on an inflatable zebra. Those videos went viral, and that was a huge turning point for me. I learned that it was okay to be weird and that I didn’t have to fit the mold to be successful or loved. That moment opened up so much growth for me, not just in my performances, but in how I approached life in general.
Also, working for Cirque du Soleil was always a goal of mine. After gigging professionally for seven years, I finally got the opportunity when I moved to Vegas. That was a huge dream come true for me.
Today, what keeps me going is creativity. I just love creating—whether it’s on stage or in front of a camera. There’s always a story to tell or movement to explore, and I’m constantly looking for new ways to grow and change my perspective. That drive is what keeps me pushing forward in everything I do.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road hasn’t always been smooth. In fact, some of the biggest hurdles in my journey have been injury-related. My first big injury happened in high school when I fractured my femur. I still remember my first thought: “My career is over.” That moment was a big turning point, and looking back, I realize that many of the major forks in the road have been tied to injuries.
But it wasn’t until a few years ago that I started to see injuries in a different light. I’d always focused on the physical recovery, but what I wasn’t realizing was the mental growth I was also experiencing. Injuries forced me to slow down, reflect, and reframe my approach—not just physically but mentally as well. That shift in perspective has been crucial in my personal growth, and it’s helped me bounce back stronger, both in performance and in life.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in trampwall, which is a unique circus apparatus that combines a trampoline and a vertical wall or structure. The idea is to use the trampoline to propel yourself up the wall, performing acrobatic feats in the air, sometimes even flipping all the way to the top. It’s a group act, which is what makes it so special—rarely do you see this done solo. It really takes a team to make something truly spectacular.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the opportunities circus has given me to travel and perform all over the world. I’ve had the chance to experience different cultures and connect with so many incredible people, and I’m truly humbled by how my work has inspired others along the way.
What I think sets me apart is my mindset. I’ve learned to really embrace mistakes and inconsistencies, viewing them as opportunities to grow and evolve. Rather than seeing a mistake as a setback, I take the time to reflect on it and use it as fuel to shift my perspective and improve. This approach has helped shape my unique style in circus and content creation. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about using every experience, good or bad, to keep progressing.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I don’t necessarily have one specific mentor that I can point to, but I believe you can learn something from everyone you meet. Everyone has their own unique experiences and qualities that can inspire and teach you in different ways. We’re all so different, and I think you can find aspects of yourself or qualities you want to embody in everyone you come across. For me, that’s been a huge source of growth.
As for networking, my advice is to focus on making genuine friendships, not just connections. Build real relationships and be a true friend—not just someone looking to get something out of it. It’s about checking in on people, engaging with them, and just being your authentic self. When you show up as you truly are, your vulnerability and authenticity will attract the people you should be around. The best networks are built on genuine relationships, not just transactional ones.
