Daily Inspiration: Meet Ed Gage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ed Gage.

Hi Ed, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I moved to Los Angeles June 2017 and have built a resume in the film and music industry since arriving. Since I was young, I had dreamed of making a name for myself and putting my name on the map. Wanting the world to see what I’m made of. So far, I’m making it happen.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I’d be a liar if I said it’s been easy or a smooth road. I’ve had to deal with many obstacles. You find out who your true friends really are and who has your back. Because there are people will want to see you crash and burn. But in the end, they’ve failed in doing so. Of course, sometimes you have those days where you feel like you hit a brick wall. Then again, I always manage to find a way to knock down the wall. Even going back to my youth, my story might surprise people. The fact that I’m still here and I’m doing what I enjoy is a huge blessing. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t change it for the world.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a musician, actor and a martial artist. As a musician, I’ve been working on getting an album released with my solo band to showcase to the world. I’ve gotten to work with some amazing people on it. One of the tracks in particular that will be on the album is a studio cover and a music video with some amazing guest musicians involved. Previously I’ve performed the Sunset Strip and general Los Angeles area as a solo musician along with my band Steelwitch and have released music with both projects. As an actor, I recently produced and starred in an upcoming TV Pilot episode for a potential series called “The Dojo” where I got to put my martial arts skills to the test. I also recently co-starred in a new pirate film titled Timecrafters: The Treasure of Pirate’s Cove starring Denise Richards, Malcolm McDowell, Eric Balfour and Lew Temple and it was just released to theaters.

So now, here’s to hoping that opens up some doors. Previously as an actor, I landed a lead role in a music video for Cypress Hill titled Locos. I appeared in an episode of a Fuse TV/Hulu series called WTF Baron Davis where I got to work one on one with Jerry Ferrara from the HBO series Entourage and former basketball player and two times NBA All-Star Baron Davis and got to exchange lines with them. I also previously appeared in two action-packed TV Shows that have been very popular and got to do battle scenes in both show, The Mandalorian (Season 1) and Westworld (Season 2).

Earlier this year, I also managed to appear in an advertisement for Gucci Eyewear. This year, even during the struggling times I still studied and most recently became a blue belt in Tae Kwon Do and have to thank my Grandmaster Keith Winkle for training me and teaching me to be the best that I can be, along with my amazing fight choreography team I’m a part of. It’s hard to say what I’m most proud of because I’ve managed to do so many incredible things that I always had dreamed of doing. But I’m very proud of everything I’ve been working on and working towards. What sets me apart from others is that I’m a doer. I have goals and I intend to make them a reality. I never give up and keep pushing towards the next journey and next story to create. I never intend to stop doing what I enjoy until I get the results I have been working towards achieving.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Oh boy, I think when I received not just my first guitar. But my second guitar which was a Cherry Red Epiphone SG, similar to the one Angus Young of the band AC/DC uses only; he uses a Gibson brand of it. I still have the guitar to this day. The guitar means a lot to me because I remember when my grandfather had visited me at 12 years old, he showed up with a guitar case. Little did I know what I was going to find opening it. Being a die-hard fan of AC/DC at the age of 12, I was just blown away and complete surprised when I opened the guitar case. There it was, it almost felt like I had found the holy grail. I even remember dropping a couple of tears just looking at it. Afterwards, I ran up to my grandpa and gave him the biggest hug. I’ll forever cherish that guitar no matter what. Because I knew this was a part of the beginning to a journey ahead.
