Daily Inspiration: Meet Dymonique ‘DYMI’ Coleman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dymonique ‘DYMI’ Coleman.

Hi Dymonique ‘DYMI’, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Los Angeles, CA and I am 21 years old. Since I was a little kid, I always had dreams of being an entrepreneur and always had an eye for fashion ever since I was able to dress myself I always dressed different from others and people would always compliment me on my dressing. As I got older and graduated from school I always knew I wanted to have a clothing brand and be a successful entrepreneur but didn’t have the knowledge or resources, I went to college for a semester and studied criminal justice to be a lawyer but the main reason I wanted to be a lawyer was because I would make a lot of money and be able to fund my business because I always knew I wanted to be a entrepreneur so as I passed all my classes and continued school I decided the time was now and took a leap of faith to not go back after my first semester was done and start my first job in hopes of making enough money to start my first business but once I started working there I knew that would be impossible because I was making little to no money at this time I was 18 so I worked there for six months and got a better job offer and started working there in 2018 and it was definitely a upgrade from my last job but it still wasn’t enough because I wasn’t able to save money felt like every paycheck was used for bills and expenses. Fast forward to 2020, the start of the pandemic, I still had my job. I was grateful for it but I knew I wanted more so when we received the first stimulus check, I used it to fund my business instead of using it on pointless and material things knowing that one day I would be able to get all of those things and more. So I launched my business Dymi Apparel but I was still working full time and trying to balance the two, two weeks into starting my business I was injured at work and was forced to take off so that gave me time to focus on my business full time and I just always believed that it was a sign from GOD and for the next year I would be hands on everyday doing Dymi apparel full time growing day by day and in 2021 I realized I needed a platform and ways to promote my brand and expand my brand which I never thought it would be YouTube because I was always really to myself and never thought my personality would stand out or get people attention but I always wanted to be a creator and influencer and come out of my shell of being anti-social and not able to really interact with people so I decided to start YouTube and from 2021 until now I’ve been a YouTube and entrepreneur full time growing both Dymi apparel and Dymi World day by day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey is like a roller coast some days I’m on a high and other days are really low, I’ve dealt with losing all of my money and starting over that was one of the hardest and low points knowing I have a business to run and bills but one thing I never lost was faith and staying consistent is my key to success, staying consistent is really hard when you feel like no one is supporting or watching and struggling trying to come out of my shell doing YouTube was one of the most challenging things but I know with every challenge or obstacle that you overcome or every time things get really bad something really great will happen and that’s what I live by.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of Dymi apparel and a YouTuber, I create clothing designed for people who want to stand out and I create content and videos to inspire and entertain people all around the world. I’m known for my creativity and to inspire also to be very hardworking, I am most proud of being able to say that I’ve been my own boss for two years being able to create my own lane. What sets me apart from others is the fact that I ride my own wave and create my own opportunities and never settle for less then what I deserve.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite memory was when I was 11 years old. I was always really good at video games and I went to a birthday party and they had a game truck and I was the only girl in the game truck and all the boys said that I didn’t know how to play and that they would beat me so I played all of them and beat them one by one and it taught me at an early age that I can always beat the odds.
