Daily Inspiration: Meet Christina Palacios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Palacios.

Hi Christina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m grateful for the people and support who have helped me to be an actor. From my girl scout leader who told me I am Peter Pan, (without auditioning) to the RADA director who told me, “you’re one of the most courageous actors I know, you must do this professionally.” He helped me get the scholarship to drama school in London. Sometimes, others can see us before we even know ourselves.

i’m a Spanish American/Cherokee actress. You can see me in the Allstate commercial, “Promposal.” I”ve been on Criminal Minds (CBS), Good Trouble (Freeform), American Housewife (ABC), and Transparent (Amazon.) I trained in the UK, and worked in the London theatre, my fave role is Sylvia from “The Women,” and Lady Macbeth, Mistress Ford, among other Shakespearean roles.

I love being an actor. It’s a way of life. I think you either are born an actor, or you’re not.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? Hahaha, not really. Loosing both of my parents definitely was not great and turned my life upside down for sure. Without the help of my husband, friends and my community, I would have been even more lost. Holidays are really hard without them. I still have a hard time at Christmas. It definitely has made me a stronger actor.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
What makes me unique is my UK training and working in the London theatre, as well as being a bilingual Spanish American and Cherokee actress in Los Angeles. I can play a Spanish, an American, or a Cherokee woman. I have traveled and lived around the world. You can hand me any script and I can do it. I love bringing a writer’s words to life.

What are your plans for the future?
I am looking forward to the TV and film world to open back up again, hopefully, bring more work to us all. If not, I”ll be creating my own short film.
