Daily Inspiration: Meet Azja Marie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Azja Marie

Hi Azja, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hey Fam! I’m back!!

I am the creator and owner of the alternative clothing brand AZJA…pronounced like AYY-ZUHH.
AZJA is created and curated from the depths of chaos with heavy influences of Los Angeles and Rock n’ Roll.

I was co-owner and creator of a former clothing brand called Sinister Sisters. Since that chapter has ended, it was a great journey that brought me great lessons and blessings, but my journey didn’t end there.

I launched AZJA back in March 2024, while balancing a new job and vending at different markets almost every weekend. It was a new chapter of hustling, brainstorming and venturing outside the L.A. metal scene. So far it has been a challenging but great start.

Since I was kid, I’ve always wanted to be a designer. Starting this brand has been healing my inner child and inner teenager. Every piece I have created or curated is from blood, sweat and tears. So… if you shop with me… you have a piece of my heart.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The first six months were super challenging but it was worth it. I was able to participate in new markets and meet new people. I have vended in bars, flea markets and expos from ranging Ventura to LBC. So… stop by and say hi. LOL

I had to really just discipline myself into working weekends, miss out on some fun and lock in. I think I’m doing ok. The main struggle right now is loading my little Fiat with all the merch. Hahaha.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
During the day, I make coffee. At night, I make clothes.

I specialize in making clothes inspired by Rock n’ Roll, Classic Rock, Heavy Metal and Glam but… for the comfy and curvy ghoulies. I do want to take it to the next level and make some clothes for the homies, that’s my goal for 2025. I’m just really proud of myself for the discipline and locking in.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
My definition of success is being your own boss… with a grateful and humble attitude.
