Today we’d like to introduce you to Aneiszka Sea.
Hi Aneiszka, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hello again!
It’s been a crazy ride since I saw you last, and so much has happened. That’s why I am definitely glad to give you this update.
As you know, I am an actress, model, singer, and writer, as well as an avid equestrian. My journey to being an entertainer is probably similar to most – small-town girl with stars in her eyes, inspired by the big screen, travels out to Hollywood, CA in search of her dreams. And wow what a trip it’s been. I have spent 15 years now in Los Angeles, and I am proud to say that I am still involved and doing everything I love.
In the past few years, I have put out new music, written a book of poetry (working on adding to it and publishing it now!), and done a lot of creating and acting as well. I also currently ride in a dressage program in Sylmar, CA, with a fantastic German trainer.
So things are definitely going well and looking up, and I am maintaining my big plans for the future.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I truly believe that no road is ever all easy, yet no road is ever all hard. I, like most, have had my fair share of struggles both with self, the intense pressure that can be placed on me at times and also with the industry itself.
As of now, the entertainment industry has grown, changed, and become so much more inclusive in the past few years that it hardly resembles what it used to be. However, when I first arrived 15 years ago, it felt like there was not truly a place for me. As a young woman of mixed ancestry, I was told over and over again that I did not fit into the two boxes that casting was looking for – black or white. As a young woman with small breasts, big hair, freckles, and a gap, I was told to fix my teeth, wear more makeup to cover up the “dirt” spots, straighten my hair, and buy some bigger boobs. It definitely took a hit to my confidence. But I persisted, at times with more vigor and gusto than others, but persisted still. And I am very glad I did, as now, with all the changes, I am in style. Haha. That goes to show you, love yourself as you are, don’t become a trend. Because the human desire, the human NEED, is to always come back to authenticity and connection when things go wrong when things feel empty inside.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have absolutely had the good luck to work on so many amazing projects and with so many wonderful people in all my time here in LA, it’s hard just to choose a few. But some of the ones I am most proud of are being a part of the show 100 Humans on Netflix (we all still keep in touch!), doing the Venom music video for Marvel’s movie of the same name (Eminem and Marvel are my favorites, I almost had a panic attack from nerves on that one, but I pulled it together and enjoyed every moment on that set), and I am also of course very proud of my own projects and music videos, because of the way the whole team just really came together to create something and explore art in a different way, and in a very fast timeline. (I could not have done Mama’s Comin Home without my director Dylan M. Searle, he was literally the glue that held it all together and made it all happen that day.)
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
To take it slow. Your time will come. Stay true to yourself, and don’t compromise your morals or instincts. You need to trust them so you can keep your soul. You want to be able to sleep with yourself at night. And always keep the compass strong for who you are.
Art takes soul. So don’t lose yours. And if you do, put yourself around some amazing people who can help you find it again.
And don’t follow trends. Ever. Make your own path, and others will join you always.
