Daily Inspiration: Meet Amber Smoke

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Smoke.

Hi Amber, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been singing and dancing since I was big enough to boss my family around into watching my living room concerts. I trained in hip-hop, ballet, contemporary, you name it. I’ve always had this wild DIY spirit. I taught myself how to edit, choreograph, write, build websites, and even style myself. I’m basically a one woman creative team.

During the pandemic, I dropped “Slow It Down” and nearly half a million people vibed with it, including a few celebrities. That moment made me realize I could really do this. I followed it up with “Isn’t It Funny?” This song received so much love for calling out real-world issues. Then we followed up with “Money Orders,” which hit major radio stations.

Then came the acting bug. I’ve landed roles in films on BET, Tubi, and Paramount+, and I’ve even placed my original songs in every movie I’ve filmed because why not wear all the hats? Especially if you’re
living in L.A.

I just released my next single “I’d Rather Be” on all platforms and prepping for my EP.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I can honestly say in the beginning, like everything else in life , there were definitely some bumpy roads and lots of figuring things out on my own. I had to wear all the hats. But after the pandemic, things really started picking up. I released music that connected with people, built momentum, and joined forces with a solid team. Now the road feels a lot smoother, and we’re moving forward with good music and good vibes.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a recording artist, actress, and all-around creative. I sing, rap, write, dance, act and choreograph, I blend bars with melodies, and I’m known for giving you substance with style. I love creating the whole experience.

What I’m most proud of is staying true to myself. I’ve been blessed to have been able to place original songs in every film I’ve acted in, and I’ve built my brand without compromising my voice or my values. What sets me apart? I show up at all times, figure it out, and make it happen.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Most definitely Yes! This journey is far from over. I’m excited about my upcoming EP. It takes listeners through the emotional highs and lows of love, loss, and ultimate liberation. From heartbreak to healing, this project is an anthem filled journey, and I’m finally ready to share it with the world.

I also just launched my boutique fashion company, The Haus of Imani and it’s amazing. It’s an extension of my creative expression, and I’m so excited to watch it grow. Whether it’s music, fashion, or film, I’m building a world that feels true to me, and I’m just getting started.
