Conversations with Sheena Metal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheena Metal.

Hi Sheena, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m a psychic, medium, spiritual counselor, intuitive and emotional empath who specializes in personal vibrational motivation, soul enlightenment, energetic healing, chakra rejuvenation and ethereal guidance. I was born in New Haven, CT, and moved to Huntington Beach, CA, as a young teenager, immersing myself in the essence, of Pacific Ocean beach culture, which has become an important part of my spiritual ideology and regenerative work. I come by her gifts naturally, through my maternal line, which is of Irish, Southern heritage. My mother, who hailed from Louisville, KY., was also a gifted psychic/medium, mental health educator and public school teacher. My father, who was also from Connecticut, was an obstetrician and a midwife.

I have always had an eclectic belief system, that I refer to as “spiritual salad bar”…part indigenous Celtic/Pagan, part “teachings of Christ” Christian, some Eastern philosophy (Buddhist/Hindu) and a lot of New Age/Metaphysical. In addition to my time spent interpreting Universal, Angelic and/or Spirit Guide messages, I have educated myself in the in the fields of: astrology, numerology, cryptozoology, ufology, demonology, parapsychology and theology. I am an interfaith minister, who received my ordination through American Trinity University, where I also hold the title of Deacon, and is now a staff pastor, at the Founders church of the MCC (Metropolitan Community Church) movement, performing my monthly Saturday Metal Spiritual service, for the last five years.

I have been involved in both the psychic and the paranormal worlds, for most of my life. As a paranormal survivor, who lived many of my young years in an extremely active haunted house, I witnessed apparitions, ghostly noises, poltergeist activity, paranormal attacks and more. Since then, I have dedicated myself to relieving the fear and anxiety, of others, who have suffered the same fate. I have worked on a variety of television, radio and film projects, as an intuitive advisor, motivational speaker, spiritual/paranormal expert and ghost investigator; moderating Q&A’s, hosting live broadcasts and participating in paranormal/spiritual gatherings in Savannah, GA., Louisville, KY., Montgomery, AL., Sedona, AZ., Dallas, TX. and all throughout Southern California. I have been an active member of LAPA (“Los Angeles Paranormal Association”), PRRS (“Paranormal Research and Resource Society”), PIHA (“Paranormal Investigations of Haunted America”) and am the founder, of “Surf City Paranormal”.

As a psychic, I run her own spiritual practice, based in the Los Angeles area, which emphasizes the motivation/healing of your energetic vibration, through spiritual advice, consulting and guidance. I have worked numerous entertainment industry events, in Hollywood, including the NBC/Universal employee Christmas party and the “50 Shades Darker” film premiere. I have taken part, in two reality TV show pilots, one for Telepictures (“Ellen”/”Extra”) and the other for Magical Elves (“Project Runway”/”Top Chef”)…the latter of which also starred Jill-Michele Melean (“MADtv”) and Carlos Alazraqui (“Reno 911!”).

I have hosted the successful social media series, “Living with the Dead”, with Patti Negri, from Travel Channel’s “Ghost Adventures” and “Altared”, with “True Blood’s” Carolyn Hennesy and currently hosts three shows for the successful video platform, “Live Paranormal”: “I Am Raising Your Vibration”, “Haunted Playground: After Dark” and “Your Psychic Experience”…all of which feature my psychic readings and spiritual experiences. In addition, I have been a guest on countless popular talk shows, including the You Tube sensation, “Good Mythical Morning”, with Rhett McLaughlin/Link Neal, KDOC’s “Carlos and Lisa”, with popular news anchors, Carlos Amezcua/Lisa Remillard, and “Beyond Reality Radio”, with Jason Hawes (“Ghosthunters”)/JV Johnson (Scare-A-Con).

I am a crystal enthusiast and a devotee of their healing properties. I have a signature line of blessed, cleansed and charged stones, called Good Vibrations, currently featured in my online Vibration Vortex store. Also an advisor and coach, I teach regular workshops across the United States, and currently offer a series of online webinars, featuring a wide range of topics from: empath awareness to narcissist recovery, from spiritual protection to vibrational elevation and from crystal healing to soulmate love. I am currently working on a series of spiritual self-help books, a meditation CD, a deck of oracle cards and plans to open her own spiritual center, in the very near future.

As an artist, I have spent most of my life, as an actress, writer, director, comedian and journalist. I’ve been a talk radio host for almost 30 years and currently helms three top-rated shows for the infamous iHeartRadio…including the spiritual/paranormal “Haunted Playground” the inspiring “Raising The Vibration” and the self-help and healing “Side By Side”. For the ParaPodTV network (Roku Channel), I host “Messages From Spirit”, where I provide psychic messages to everyday people and my signature talk show, “The Sheena Metal Experience”, which I broadcasted live, from the renowned Hollywood Improv, for many years. I regularly teach both children and adults with physical and/or intellectual differences for: Actors with Autism, Performing Arts Studio West, Meet the Biz, Life Group LA; and have also coached for Lifeworks’ “Models of Pride”, a weekend of LGBTQ mentoring, at the University of Southern California.

As a philanthropist, I have worked with many spiritual, humane and cultural organizations, including the life-changing, Harvey Milk Foundation. I currently sit on the Board of Directors for: the Lavender Effect, the Artemis Women in Action Film Festival, the Moreno Valley Cultural Arts Foundation and the Huntington Beach Historical Society. I regularly direct a celebrity charity production of Eve Ensler’s poignant play, “The Vagina Monologues”, with nearly 100 actresses, to raise awareness and money for anti-violence charities. On November 9, 2016, I founded RaisingTheVibration.org, a non-profit, movement of peace, love, kindness and unity, to carry on my mother’s spiritual and humane teachings…and it has grown to include: a companion radio show, a daily motivational site, a video broadcast program, an online outreach community and live events/gatherings

I believe that all things are rooted in spirituality, that happiness and peace come from within and that a strong, yet pure, connection to your Higher Power is a crucial element, in a productive/balanced existence and in a happier, spiritually enriched, more-connected self. I understand that the Universe is a delicate blend of light and dark energies; and that by surrounding one’s self in positivity, optimism, joy and enlightenment, you can better understand your past/present/future paths, personality and destiny while, in turn, repelling negativity from yourself, your environment and the planet.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, there have been obstacles and challenges…I’m a woman. First, as an overweight actress in 1980’s-90’s, then as a talk radio host (where woman are still very rare), my career has been filled with obstacles; but I’ve continued to show up with a positive attitude and a passionate spirit. I always aim to provide a quality product and I refuse to be intimidated or defeated.

In my spiritual work, gender and body type has, finally, become irrelevant, But, I am now challenged in a very different way…as my spiritual work comes from a place of pure love and healing. I keep my rates reasonable, never turn away a client (no matter how much help they need, or how resistant they are to that help) and I refuse to confirm to any one spiritual ideology or community. I live my life, as a minister and as a psychic practitioner, directly in service to the Universe…the same way that I approach my artistic/creative life.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I divide my time between the spiritual and the creative worlds. At this time, most of my focus is on my spiritual practice, as a psychic/medium and an energetic healer and my interfaith ministry, through my spiritual movement, RaisingTheVibration.org. The latter I founded to carry on my mom’s teachings and healing, after her death, in 2016. Its focus is on bringing more: peace, love, kindness and unity to the world. So, of course, it’s what I’m most proud of.

Whether I’m working as a psychic/medium, an interfaith minister or a TV/Radio host, I am bringing a message of love. My clients see me as a friend and/or a family member, who is providing loving guidance, from a gentle Universe/Higher Power. I am so grateful for my gifts and I keep my own ego out of my work. I am here to serve the planet and all of its beings and I am highly devoted to my service. You never know where you’ll find me…in a crystal shop or a haunted house, a radio or a TV studio, in a church or on a stage. I go where Spirit calls me to be.

How do you think about luck?
Don’t get me wrong…I absolutely believe in luck, as a spiritual energy. I am Irish, after all. LOL! However, I honestly credit most of my success to hard work and a positive attitude. I believe that the more you put into the world, the more the Universe bestows blessings upon you and that you need to approach each new dream, goal and opportunity, with an open mind, heart and soul. I certainly don’t mind working hard for everything I have. I had an Irish, depression-era mom, who ingrained a great work ethic in me, as well as a beautiful understanding of energy and spiritual physics… and I’m so grateful for that. I share this knowledge of giving, paying it forward and giving back, on a daily basis, with my clients. And I’m not sure if I believe in bad luck…but I certainly believe in bad karma, bad juju and negative energy…but that may be a discussion for another question.
