Conversations with Ronesha Lang

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronesha Lang.

Hi Ronesha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started Kendawls because I wanted to create a fashion brand that builds confidence and self-esteem in underserved youth. Growing up as a kid, there were little to no affordable resources for a child like me. I do remember attending a casting call when I was about ten years old. The casting director told me I was so beautiful with a smile that brights up the room however she did suggest I get braces and a few other things fixed prior to pursuing a career. Years later, I found my purpose, bridging the gap between the industry’s expectations of youth. Given all youth access to resources and opportunities that will help develop their portfolio in the modeling industry.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to success has been very difficult. However, there has been so many good and bad trials along the way that I’m proud of going through. Everything you go through is teaching and preparing you for what’s next. That’s why is so important to pursue something you’re passionate about. Struggles prepare you for the process.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I serve as an Executive Director for a local nonprofit I originally founded in 2017 by the name of Dawl Camp Corp. Dawl Camp stands for (Do It All With Love) this is a California 501c(3) Providing educational workshop program to low-income youth ages 5-17 that will help improve mental and physical health. Our program’s topics consist of Anti-Bullying, Health and Hygiene, Proper Etiquette, and many more. These workshops are therapeutic. I enjoy serving and encouraging youth to overcome trauma. I’m most proud of being able to give back to those who are in need.

Any big plans?
I have big things planned for the future of Kendawls. I’m looking forward to growing and expanding our services to becoming a Modeling Agency. With the right resources and people in place, we can definitely help empower the next generation of youth.
