Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Pierce.
Hi Paige, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
A Los Angeles native, Paige originally moved to New York to pursue a career in fashion after graduating from Tulane University in New Orleans. She began her career at Teen Vogue Magazine and then moved on to fashion house Diane von Furstenberg. It was during her time at DVF, while managing the launch of a home collection and fabric line, that she realized her true calling was for Interiors and she enrolled at Parsons School for Design. Paige and her husband relocated to Los Angeles ahead of the birth of their first daughter. Paige opened Paige Pierce Design in 2014 and is currently working with clients in Los Angeles, Northern California, Palm Springs and New York.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The toughest part about opening my business in Los Angeles was that all of my sources and go-to vendors were in New York. When I first moved back to LA, I spent a lot of time testing out vendors on personal projects and slowly built a great network of local LA-based tradesmen I work with regularly. I also tap into my East Coast resources when necessary!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am best known for my updated twist on traditional decor. I have a strong foundation of tradition and artistry that I honed during my time on the East Coast and merge with my West Coast aesthetic. I love mixing colors, patterns, and textures. In each project, my desire is to create timeless interiors that reflect my client’s tastes and lifestyles. I am most proud of creating livable spaces that are also beautiful. The majority of my clients are younger families and they need to be able to really live in their homes and not be worried about wear and tear. I love that my clients get to enjoy their homes and that the products we design and purchase for them have longevity.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Patience! Explaining lead times to a client was never easy, but it became a nightmare during Covid and we are still experiencing extremely long delays. I have learned that it is best to be extremely upfront at the start that this will be a process and that we are all working towards the same goal (and it will be well worth the wait in the end!)
