Conversations with Outkast Marcos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Outkast Marcos.

Hi Outkast, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am an independent graphic designer and cameraman who helped capture and experience the new wave of Los Angeles hip-hop culture. With experience working alongside artists such as Shoreline Mafia, Big $wift, Organized Krime, Doknow, Rucci and many more, my work spans tour photography, videography and visual design. Having traveled to multiple cities on tour and designed for respected LA media outlets and working alongside major LA media platform Rosecrans Media, I brought an authentic creative vision and art to showcase the movement as it was happening in real time of the 2018 New LA Rap. i started in 2017 helping one of my good friends Rosecrans Vic who gave me the opportunity and first job in music to work for him filming interviews which led to concerts, festivals then traveling across the U.S. At the the same time working alongside my best friends and Rap Collective “Organized Krime” and a close friend “Big $wift”(from Downey,Ca) from our hometown of Norwalk, California. Fast forward almost 10 years still just creating art and having fun today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Hasnt always been smooth, being a self employed artist comes with its ups & downs, from some of the highs being free concerts, lavish living, fancy dinners, traveling with friends, helping my family thru my art then comes the lows with people taking advantage of your kindness, underpaid, family expecting alot with not much understanding of your workfield, and then In 2023 i suffered a stroke which really changed alot of things in my life overnight.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
i specialize in visual arts including graphic design, videography, pgotography, clothing, stage design + many more content visual related things.

What im most proud of it to be able to see my work displayed everywhere i never imagined. For example billboards, some of the most popular venues across the U.S, music artworks, flyers, clothing designs, home goods, etc.

What sets me apart is that i made it this far with my friends, built a foundation with people i genuinely know and grew up with.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
