Conversations with Manuela Oliveira

Today we’d like to introduce you to Manuela Oliveira

Hi Manuela, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always naturally wanted to be infront of a camera or out there dancing in the middle of the dance floor and parties as kid! After highschool I decided to get into the dance studio and that sparked the dance career idea and that’s when a light bulb switched on and I knew it’s my purpose to be an Artist weather as a dancer singer or actress I wanted to tap into it all and I did and dance took over also released my first single and I’ve never looked back. Today I have choreographed hundreds of performances from schools performances to artists for stage and music videos to Hit TV shows.
I’ve performed for Rihanna and JLo and worked 3 seasons on NBCs The Voice, X-factor USA Assisting Paula Abdul and So You Think You Can Dance Australia & Malaysia.
Traveling and teaching in different countries and now building my own coaching and mentoring program ‘Elite Dance Coach’ and training in person and online.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not always smooth and I have been my biggest believer, I go for it despite what anyone says and I’m far from where I was and closer to where I’m going. Not always easy traveling and relocating by yourself many times I’ve had to keep restarting from the bottom financially building myself up and getting myself out there and I’ve exercised that muscle many times!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a Dancer, Choreographer and Movement Coach also an Elite Dance coach I love preparing and mentoring those for the industry.
I’m most proud of being Australian and Moving to the US earning my Citizenship and having worked 3 Seasons on NBCs The Voice as Performance Consultant, Assistant for Paula Abdul on The X-Factor and a Judge on So You Think You Can Dance Malaysia.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Trusting the wrong people has made me wiser so always trust instinct it never fails, apart from that I am thankful, I believe everything I’ve been through shaped me to who I am today and I’m proud of how far I’ve come and who and where I am.
