Conversations with Maike Bassin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maike Bassin.

Hi Maike , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started creating content in 2023. It was my creative outlet back then – I just liked to share my thoughts, my perspective, my daily life and my passions with everyone. I always had ambition to inspire others. In january 2024 I lost my dad when I was 18 years old and suddenly my perspective on life changed a bit. Now I wasn’t only trying to inspire other people but I actually wanted to motivate them. Motivate them to pursue their dreams, work hard for what they want and still enjoy their life to the fullest because you never know when it might stop. I learned that the hard way. Surprisingly, that was when my account and therefore indirectly my business started to go off, People were inspired by my will of living, my energetic and optimistic view on any situation in life. I pushed primarily students, as I am a student myself, to do it all at once, because I know they can do it if they want to,

And that’s how I got where I’m at today. I love connecting with new souls, hearing about their passions and dreams and struggles on their way to get there. I share them, I listen and I’m here to give them the little pushes that everyone needs sometimes, And the more people I am able to connect with, the happier I am!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s never a smooth road. I think the biggest struggles have been to find it out by myself. There’s no one who can help me with handling everything. And even though I am very real with my community, there are struggles that no one sees but myself.

And I’m working on that. Still. Because I know keeping mental struggles to myself isn’t the healthiest way and I am trying to open myself up to my close circle more and more.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So many people think I’m just a study creator. I try to get you to study and that’s it. But there’s a lot more behind it.

I’m not saying you should stay behind your desk the entire day and get as much done as possible. That might actually be the opposite of my mantra. What I’m trying to spread is an efficient, organized study routine that helps students to keep up with their studies while it simultaneously frees their daily schedules. I’m here for my community. I listen when they tell me about their habits or struggles that hinder them to shuffle some time free.
I want them to spend the least time behind the desk, so that they have the most to enjoy their youths while still staying on a save path that will lead them to their desired futures.

I’m a big advocate for combining studying / working with going abroad as well! I love travelling and the way it opens your mindset and teaches you a lot, so that is something that I often do myself, what I’m known for and also there have been followers that signed up for, for example, a semester abroad, because I was able to give them the last push they needed to take theri fears.

This mindset of not being afraid of living, saying yes to everything, having the curiosity in situations outside of my comfort zone and being organised enough to keep my future together is what sets me apart from others and I love showing them this kind of mindset.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I get inspired by everything. Funnily enough not only things online, but especially people and their perspectives. It is incredibly mindblowing to connect with people from all over the places, old or young with the most different life experiences so far. Don’t get me wrong, it can be very heavy, but you learn from all of their experiences!

It’s like a katharsis over and over again and my spotify suddenly is full of their favourite songs, my camera roll has the places that they wanted to visit and I was so lucky to be able to go with them, my strava fills itself up with runs and hikes through places that I would’ve never heard of before if I didn’t speak to certain people and my own language is a mixture of all their sayings and habits.

This is what inspires me, the passion that people that I care about have for certain things. This might be my own passion.
