Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorelei Marcell.
Hi Lorelei, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Hi! Thank you for taking the time to chat with me- my name is Lorelei Marcell, and I’m an artist/singer-songwriter currently living in Los Angeles! I grew up in the suburbs of Boston and was always filling my time with music related extracurriculars. Singing was always something I was so drawn to at an early age, and not until my high school years did I really get into songwriting. After I finished school, I moved straight to LA to pursue my career full-time.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Every career path has their struggles and rewards- the music industry included. It’s very high to low- there’s a lot of work that needs to be put in to achieve certain goals. Even with the negativity and difficulties, I’ve found it acts as more of a moment of self-reflection- keeping your personal life separate from your art is probably the biggest hurdle.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an artist and a singer-songwriter! I’ve primarily always been a singer, but the older I get the more I fall in love with and more connected I feel to all aspects of music. I’d say I’m most proud of the progress I’ve made since first moving to Los Angeles. I’ve made a good group of friends and gotten to work with some incredible and very inspiring musicians. Overall, I’d say my voice and the sonics of my music set me apart most 🙂
