Today we’d like to introduce you to JT.

Hi JT, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As a child, I was exposed to many musical influences growing up. Coming from a musical family, I was surrounded by singers, songwriters, and musicians, which ultimately had an effect on my becoming an artist. Like most artists, I grew up singing in church. As I got older, I learned to play the piano and begin composing my own songs. By the time I reached middle school, I took up rapping as a hobby with my brothers, and eventually, we formed a group. All these experiences played an essential role and becoming the person I am today as I combine these musical experiences to curate sound that reaches audiences worldwide.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been many ups and downs in my journey. However, The number one defining traot that has kept me on track is discipline. It is the thing that keeps you up at night. It’s the thing that tells you to go write that song, to go record idea, or to get the mix right, then do it over again until it’s perfect. Discipline will be the determining factor that makes you stand out from everyone else.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The thing that I am most proud of is my longevity and ability to sustain my career as an independent artist. There are a lot of people who give up because of the expense or the amount of legwork you have to. Yes, it is very difficult at times but the payoff is worth everything.

How do you think about happiness?
Knowing that I have been able to reach countless individuals through the gift that God has given me is an incredible feeling.
