Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Sweet.
Hi Jordan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a Los Angeles native, and that foundation is central to my story. Growing up, I moved back and forth between Los Angeles and the Chicagoland area, and that experience deeply shaped me. Living in both places allowed me to absorb the culture, values, and energy of each — blending LA creativity and confidence with Chicago’s work ethic and sense of community. Being the cousin of Simone Battle, I had the privilege of watching her rise and shine in the entertainment world, which was inspiring and fueled my own passion for creativity from an early age.
I’ve been creatively producing and showcasing work since I was young, and I’ve been signed as a model and actor since I was 10. That early start gave me a unique perspective on storytelling, performance, and how to craft experiences that resonate with people.
I carried those influences into my education, studying at Hampton University and later graduating from the University of Illinois Chicago with a degree in Marketing, concentrating in Digital Marketing & Promotions. That training strengthened my ability to translate culture and creativity into strategy and meaningful campaigns.
Today, that foundation informs everything I do — from digital marketing and content creation to modeling, acting, and brand storytelling — allowing me to move fluidly between industries while staying grounded in authenticity and purpose.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to where I am today has never been entirely smooth. My freshman year of college, in February 2019, coincided with the onset of COVID-19, and it felt like everything I had been building since the age of 10 was slipping away. The uncertainty of the world mirrored the uncertainty of my future. Faced with these challenges, I made the difficult decision to move to Chicago and transfer from Hampton University to a community college. This pivot allowed me to refocus my efforts, earning my associate’s degree in business—a critical turning point that marked the birth of Influencer Jordan Sweet.
During that time, I immersed myself in digital marketing and content creation, forming early partnerships with major brands like Warner Bros., Lemon Perfect, and Magnlens. These collaborations fueled my passion and motivated me to expand my presence, working with photographers across Los Angeles to build a professional portfolio that reflected both creativity and strategy.
When the world began to open back up, I seized the opportunity to study abroad in Milan, Italy, through the IES Abroad Fashion Design & Merchandising Program. There, I interned as a social media and fashion stylist at VirgoImage and was fortunate to be featured as a signed model in prestigious publications such as Vogue and Vanity Fair during SS22 Milan Fashion Week. That experience taught me the power of manifestation and reinforced the idea that staying focused, persistent, and intentional brings opportunities to fruition.
After graduating from the University of Illinois Chicago in spring 2024, it took five months to find my first post-grad opportunity. While that period was challenging, it became an invaluable moment of reflection. I connected with my passions, assessed my skill set, and realigned with my purpose, ultimately learning that even difficult seasons can be fertile ground for growth.
Today, I have the privilege of leveraging my platform to form meaningful relationships with brands, businesses, and audiences that align with my values and aspirations. The journey has taught me that resilience, focus, and faith in your vision are as critical as talent, and that obstacles are often the stepping stones to meaningful growth.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My artistry is rooted in storytelling — whether through content creation, fashion, modeling, or digital marketing. I see my work as a bridge, connecting culture, individuality, and self-expression in ways that resonate with people. What sets me apart is my ability to combine strategy and creativity while staying authentic. I don’t just follow trends; I craft narratives that feel personal, intentional, and impactful.
In addition to my creative work, I’m passionate about building community and creating spaces for connection. In August 2025, in partnership with Waymaker Media, I hosted The Exchange: Powering Dreams, Building Legacies at Bronzeville Winery. The event celebrated Black Business Month and brought entrepreneurs, creatives, and young professionals together to network, share ideas, and find purpose in their work. Through this event and ongoing content campaigns, I’ve been able to uplift Black-owned businesses in Los Angeles, ATL, NYC, and Chicago, showcasing local talent, and highlighting meaningful stories in the communities.
I’m most proud of my ability to take risks and evolve, to transform opportunities into platforms for impact, and to use my voice and visibility to inspire others. My goal is to show that creativity is limitless, that strategic storytelling can create change, and that authenticity is always the key differentiator. Every campaign, piece of content, and event I produce reflects my purpose: to connect, empower, and leave a lasting impact on the people and communities I serve.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I collaborate with brands, entrepreneurs, and creatives to create authentic, impactful content and campaigns.
