Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan River Recordings.
Hi Jordan River, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Jordan River Recordings is made up of Andy “Vodka Gravas” Rodriguez and Adrian Rice originally from Tucson, Arizona. We met in middle school and bonded over shared a passion for music and Arizona college sports. In high school we joined the school’s radio program and got some insight to the technical/ behind the scenes part of production and we decided to focus on that. We started building a home studio and eventually went to The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Phoenix, Arizona and we moved to LA immediately after Graduation.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Moving to LA with no contacts and big ambitions was tough at first. We both went through various unpaid internships as well as side gigs and we took jobs at call centers and grocery stores just to make ends meet. Sometimes going from 12+ hour studio sessions straight to our day jobs. We got off to a slow start and even thought about moving back home to regroup, but instead we stayed focused and started working with local artists and through word of mouth we began working with more high profile clients.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Jordan River Recordings is our business. We are a team of audio engineers that can fully produce, record, mix and master your songs from start to finish. What sets us apart is our professionalism, our reputation and our resume. We foster an environment that invites and supports creativity without stifling an artist’s ideas and without compromising quality. Our client list boasts everyone from local new comers to multi-platinum Grammy winners. We give our all to each project and ensure our artists leave with the song being the best it can be, both technically and creatively. We’re very proud of the fact that almost all of our clients return to us for multiple projects. We’ve garnered a Grammy nomination, multiple gold and platinum records and our songs regularly hit the Billboard Charts.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
One of the best parts of living in the LA area is being surrounded with other creative people. This city gives us the chance to live out our dreams every day. You never know who you’ll run into on any given afternoon and the networking opportunities aren’t like this anywhere else.
Also, we love the food, and the beach.
What we like least about living in LA is the traffic.
