Hi Jalen “ Jay Soull “, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Originally from Compton Ca, my grandmother and mother introduced me to performing arts from reading scripts in grandmother’s living room to listening our now generations old school music, it has influenced my creative path , Having these influences I have become passionate about dancing , creative directing , fashion and also entrepreneurship. Coming out of high school i had my own business, A clothing brand named “Hollywood Fire” from there in 2016 i started “Art for the soul“ which turned into the company i have currently with my business partner Samiyah “Sami Social” Hall,In The Middle Entertainment since 2018. Through my creative journey I’ve now self published two books “Hurt Made Me Run” and Hurt Made Me Run : Does the hurt continue under the name J.R.Chandler. And started second business with Samiyah called “ Middle House Media “ which is an our social media marketing/public relations / casting agency. Through both business we continuously help black and brown people, businesses,artist and talents thriving in there field.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

It hasn’t been a smooth road being that everything in this present time comes out of pockets But in return the support that is being receive out-weights the stress it took to make it happen and always having God by myself keeping me grounded and remembering my purpose helps me keep my head up .

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I like to consider myself multi-talented . I believe there not a task put in front of me that i can’t get done. I specialize in creative directing, story-telling, performance coaching, choreographer, social media marketing planning and producing and hosting events. I’m most known for being an overall creative and being well versed in my field. I would say i’m most proud of creating something out of nothing and following my heart and gut . What sets me apart from others is that once i set my mind to it there’s no turning back and always open for growth .

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I feel it’s important to have effective communication, compassion, understanding and always give your self grace and room to grow and ask for help.
